    Default Stretching and warmups?

Any recommendations on stretches you like to use to warmup before you go on stage? I do a few but am most concerned about my hips. The next day after working they are SORE and tight, and I want to do something to help that and also work on my flexibility.

When I was on the dance team these were always my favorites (especially on cold mornings when my legs were super stiff). I gave you these links instead of trying to explain...much easier! Hope it helps!

I stretch before my first set of the night but later on I just don't have time unfortunately.
I'm not sure whether u are new to dancing or not but I noticed in the beginning I was always very sore the next day but now I'm not - only when I have a very busy night where I have done a lot of dancing with no breaks or not many breaks.

If you do pole dancing on stage try to warm up your wrists first by holding your fingers back with your palm facing outwards (this is hard to explain without showing but I'll try).
    Roll your shoulders back.

As for flexibility it is best if you can have a quick jog on the spot to get some blood moving and then stretch your thigh muscles by standing on one leg at a time and with legs together pull your foot up to your butt.

SIt on ground with legs in straddle position and stretch each side by putting the opposite arm to the opposite ankle (or as far as u can reach). Then stretch your arms out in front and try to get your tummy as close to the ground as you can.

    Thanks all for the advice!

Jaizaine- I've been dancing regularly for a month now. I think a lot of the soreness is getting used to the exercise, but I just want to make sure that I'm not injuring myself by not stretching properly beforehand.

I have been dancing a bit over 4 months now and I'm usually not sore anymore. In the beginning I could barely walk the next day coz I am pretty energetic on stage. I do the splits and stuff without warming up - I'm naughty!
Dancing is just like any form of exercise, u will get muscle soreness until your body gets used to it.

If you have time before each stage/table set that u do I would recommend some quick stretches to avoid injuries or muscle strain.

Stretching out at the end of the evening will also help stop the soreness.
In fact the stretching at the end is possibly more important than a "warm-up" stretch.
