It will grow back thank goodness it's just hair and not a finger
You will also find that while it is growing back she will be a lot
easier to bathe, try to be positive about it or your little girl
will think something is seriously wrong..

Just my 2 cents good luck with the little barber.

Better yet, break it out at the big brother's 18th! My mom did that to me, I cut MY little sister' hair! And trust me sweety, as bad as it may seem I did a number on her!

She had bangs....when I was done she had little tufts of hair shooting straight up from her scalp about an inch long, and very very short hair in the back, right down the middle, so that making pig tails would be so much easier now!

Ooooh, poor lil sissy! I am so sorry I did that to you!

^^ Don't feel so bad, I suspect all siblings to things like that.

How about trying this on on for size. My mother and I are returning from a day trip with my son. Going through the Main St. Section of town... he rolls down the window while we are stopped and says "Hey you two sexy butts!!!"

Mom and I nearly piss ourselves laughing. He said it to two mannequins! Looks like its back to gentlemen school for my little boy!!

Don't feel bad, I cut my little sister's hair before our Easter photos when she was about 2. It's a sibling thing.

hmm...I never cut my little brothers hair, but I did shave his eyebrows off when he was about 9. Actually, I shaved 1 eyebrow off. My mother shaved the other one to make him match, LOL.

Well, fortunately, I am the oldest so I got the pleasure of messing with my brothers' hair. We're also half black and he has a big ole' poofy afro (and so did I..his grows faster than mine as well...) which I never took scissors to, but I sure did make him look pretty in barettes and my mom's high heels.

I feel like I may have damaged him though, I did once find a pair of high heels in his room...Pretty sure he's straight though (Although I wouldn't mind having a gay brother at all), he has a longtime girlfriend, etc. Maybe he just wants to be a drag queen! That'd be funnn.

Haha.. Been there. My 14-year-old Son gave himself AND my 12-year-old Daughter nice little snips when they were about 5 and 3. While he cut the back of his own hair, he cut her BANGS! To this day, I still don't know where he got the scissors from!

    I feel your pain.

I don't have kids or siblings so this may be a heretical idea. All apologies necessary in advance. You could clip all her hair - it might not be pretty for a little while, but it probably would grow back thicker, and it's not like you'd be runing her current haircut. In some cultures they shave babies' heads for a while when they're really little so they'll have thick hair the rest of their lives. People might think it's a little odd to see a little girl with a shaved head, but, hey, who cares about their opinion, and she's probably not going to care. It'll probably be one of the few times in her life when she won't. My hair totally grew back thicker after I had it shaved for a while.

I was thinking that I was glad it wasn't an eye. I'll skip the obvious lecture on an unattented 4 year old with access to sissors. This time.

Then, during the third reconciliation of the last of the McKetrick supplicants, they chose a new form for him: that of a giant Slor! Many Shuvs and Zuuls knew what it was to be roasted in the depths of the Slor that day, I can tell you!"

Loved all the stories made me feel a bit better! when her hair is in a pony tail with a barret here or there like 3 of them, you cant even tell because thank God he left the bangs alone so im going to let the shortest points grow a few more inches before cutting it all to match. As for shaving my daughters head YEAH RIGHT!!!! Were not trying to go along with the britney spears trend here and her father would kill me!!!
And please spare the lecture about the sissors if you read through the thread youll see this happens to many many people!

Oh, this person has a son who hosed down the carpet, poured ketchup on the couch, squirted shampoo in the air conditioner, split his chin open on tile, cracked his forehead on the fire place, and split his brow ridge on the cofee table. My only point was that the hair is a pretty minor loss. My son survived that period and may survive the one he's in. Laugh at the hair cut. Guard them with your life. And take precautions against the many worse things that could happen.

Being an only child I am happy to have missed out on the hair cutting thing.
Having 2 children myself we never had the hair cutting episode either. Just
2000 dollars of ruined software, my son chewed the discs. There were teeth
marks and scratches all over the discs. He also learned how to open windows
at 2 years old and jumped out of one. Thank goodness we lived in a one story
small house at the time. Not to mention the house at the time was so small
on wall mounted heater would heat the whole house. Both children put
paper in the furnace so around 2am when I went to turn up the heat flames
started shooting out of my furnace. Oh.. and there is more we had to buy
an outside garbage can with the lid that locks because we couldn't keep
our son out of the garbage. Not because we weren't feeding him.. because
he was way into feeding people food out of the garbage can. My poor friend
Spencer was one of his victims.. pizza Spencer! poor guy just thought my son
was being nice trying to give him breakfast. We went through a period where
our son decided it was a cool idea to play in his diaper and smear poo all over
his bedroom and sister. He is now 10 years old and if he wasn't so cute I don't
know if he would of made it with all the stunts he has pulled. He was and still
is the master of sneaky, I would never ever say what happened to this woman
is the result of poor parenting, it's the result of having a smart child. I doubt
she left the scissors sitting out, I'm sure it took quite a bit of effort to obtain
said scissors or she wouldn't of been so surprised by the fact her son cut her
    daughters hair. Sigh..
