    Default eyeliner tragedy

So the liquid eyeliner I adore, Maybelline Liner Express http://www.maybelline.co.uk/products...41l212l215.htm
seems to be discontinued, at least in the states. I thought I'd try to just suck it up and get a different felt-tip eyeliner, so I got this kind, Maybelline WaterProof eyeliner http://www.maybelline.com/products/p...aspx?prodid=66 and it sucks! The felt tip is hard and inflexible so I can't get the smooth 'calligraphy'-like effect I want. Does anyone have any suggestions for a soft felt tip liquid eyeliner? Preferably inexpensive, there's some make-up items I'm willing to spend big on, but eyeliner isn't one of them.

I think you will love gel liner. Just try it. I swear you'll be a convert and if not you can send me a bill for your eyeliner.

There is a really good one from Mac and Bobbi Brown. Get the accompanying brush too. it's expensive, but applies so effortlessly in thick and thin lines, doesn't smudge or smear, stays all night, etc. And a little pot will last forever.

    i second the gel liner!

but I've tried this felt tip eyeliner, and i think it's like what you're talking about. it's a good product, and cheap:

For gel eyeliner, MAC Fluidline rocks! I can't rave about this enough. Haven't tried Bobbi browns yet.

For a drugstore brand, try Almay's liquid liner. It has a felt tip and is really easy to apply. This is the only product I like from Almay.

yes i second MAC's eyeliners.... they stay on really well.. Also i use channel sometimes too.. i alternate on different days... i try to avoid drugstore brands but revelon has one that isn't too bad... its part of the pigment line... it stays pretty well, but i find it hard to get off at the end of the night.

I am not such a big fan of that felt tip liner on lola's post. It runs out quick. And is comes off when i sweat. I think I am going to try the mac gel for occasional use, b/c I use and love Nars black moon pencil!!

My fave felt tip type liner is a L'Oreal Super Liner it comes in a gold tube and it rocks! it stays put all day and glides on really smooth and there is some flex to the nib.

I second Almay. I have a friend who won't leave the house without jet black liner and she won't use anything else.

I also LOVE gel eyeliner. I use Stila's smudge pots in black. You can get it through their website, or Sephora.

Thank you for the suggestions, ladies. Only thing is, now I want to try them all. Eyeliner's more important than groceries, right?

I second the L'Oreal Super Liner - this stuff stays on me all night long and doesn't flake or peel off like some others I have tried. It is cheap, too!

No way! I have just experienced the same tragedy. I bought Maybelline Liner Express when I was in Amsterdam, and was so impressed with it. I only just ran out yesterday, to realise I can't get it here and now I'm on the hunt for a new one too
