    Default self-centered

I was just wondering, is being self-centered and selfish a bad thing? It seems to be the new trend these days. I know it's better than letting people run all over you like I use to. I just hate to shut opportunities out and become self-loathing.

It's good to a degree, but if you're running all over others like used to happen to you, you're just perpetuating the problem. Think of yourself, but not only of yourself.

"He will come in one of the pre-chosen forms. During the rectification of the Vuldrini, the traveler came as a large and moving Torg! Then, during the third reconciliation of the last of the McKetrick supplicants, they chose a new form for him: that of a giant Slor! Many Shuvs and Zuuls knew what it was to be roasted in the depths of the Slor that day, I can tell you!"

I've heard many times that people can't love or help anyone else until they learn to love and help themselves.

That is the truth. My mother has several mental illnesses, and covered them up by popping out kids. She couldn't even take care of herself. How could she take care of others? People who really need to love themselves don't believe in that. They want to find someone else as insecure as they are, and form codependent relationships. These relationships are fragile and end badly as soon as somebody grows a spine.

Imagine I'm in a 3rd world country, helping starving people. In order to have the strength to help others, I'd have to eat. It wouldn't be right to take someone else's food, but you really do have to put yourself first in order to be stable.

There is nothing wrong with putting yourself first. It becomes a problem when you intentionally fuck others over.

well i think U tell people how to treat yourself - by the way u carry yerself and all.

if u give off a vibe that u truly respect yourself - know whats good for yourself, in control of yourself, know your wants and needs, know what u'll put up with and won't..then people can sense it. its not really being self centered - u jus know who u are and know how u deserve to be treated, and wont let anyone tell u different.

i mean, theres a diff bewtwenn self confidence and conceited, yeah?

i think the important thing is to stay humble/modest.
