    Default coloring bleached hair

    possible?

i lightened my very dark rich hair, now it's a very honey colored blonde, and i want to undo it....

is it possible? I'm just in the thought stage...i may go to a salon for highlights and lowlights this next week, and see how i like that....

but if i don't, i want to know if i can darken my hair.

Me too, Lola! They always say the bitchiest things to me. Haha. I had a hard time going back to dark from light...it fades through alot...I just got a medium brown and started with it....after I got it to go medium I waited a few days and then put a richer color on top. It worked for me, but my hair is pretty cooperative unless I dye it red. Then it's a bitch. But I just did that and used brunette shampoo and it was fine.

I don't reccomend doing this on your own. Green is often the end result of DIY tint backs. Your hair needs to be colored several times (to fill the missing pigment and get an even, desired result) with a demi-permanent hair color (gentle, will not futher stress or damage hair).

See if you can get referals of several stylists and go in for a consultation to interview them. You need to find someone who is very expierienced, if not specialized, in color correction.

I cannot stress this enough, haircolor is more complicated than the little swatches you see at the drug store, especially when you're going from one extreme to another. Get a few referals, go in for a few complimentry consultations, have the process explained to you, then decide if this is really a project you can undertake on your own.

If you absolutely can't or won't go to a professional get the warmest color you can. It's pretty much been touched upon that green is a common result of blond to brown fixes. It's icky and ugly and can be hard to avoid when you do it yourself!!

If you still have a lot of warmth in your hair (i.e. yellow/orange instead of true blonde) you may still be safe to dye back yourself.

I have mostly highlighted blonde hair that is naturally very dark. Last time I went I had highlights and low lights put in and had her tone it to a darker caramel shade. I wanted a change, but I didn't want to completely abandon my light hair. My attitude is once my hair is dark again it has to stay that way for at least a few years. I am very happy with it since it is a change, my hair is different, but I can go back to the light blonde hair very easily.
