    Default Pole Tricks = Bruises

Hi. I just started doing a lot of pole tricks. A lot of climbing, flipping upside down, etc. One thing I noticed though is since then I've been having a lot of BRUISING! I'm pretty much the only dancer at work that can do a lot of pole work, so no one else knows. Does this happen to everyone? Am I doing something wrong?

Sounds about right, just take more iron, you'll get bruises for 2 months, theyll lessen every week.

Every time you learn a new trick, you'll probably get new bruises, but no worries, your body will get acustomed to the abuse! Your body will toughen up over time. Remember the first night you crawled all over the stage, and all the bruises on your knees for the next week.... fond memories. Keep on rockin' it! You're body will get used to it.

I consider my bruises my badges of honor! I look down and go, "Yup, I worked hard and I am a pole dansah!"

Bruising is most common when pole dancing, and it's no fun. But, the feeling you get after perfecting the move that caused the bruising sure is worth it.

I have read that there are some vitamins or supplements that help reduce how easily a person bruises. They might help you to some degree but the temporary battle scars from polework are just part of the deal, unfortunatly.

Cypress oil (pure essential oil) will eliminate bruises quickly. It stinks but it works.

Arnica is good. Topically it comes in a cream, or balm, and even a spray if I remember correctly. You can also get an arnica supplement (pill)

Also, you may have an iron deficiency if you bruise really severely. You can get Iron supplements just about anywhere.

It may not necessarily be iron if there is excessive bruising. Word has it around the tattoo shops that a cause of this is a potassium deficiency.

Yes arnica is excellent but it is important to apply it asap after u have worked out on the pole.
It is perfectly normal even to have severe bruising when u first start pole work.
I have been pole dancing for a year now and only now have I stopped bruising. I still bruise occasionally like when I learn a new trick or when I have a very intense work-out but your skin and muscles will get used to it.

I used to have the worst bruises ever. I seriously looked like I was being abused. But I don't get bruises anymore...I think every new pole trick I'd get bruises for maybe 2-3 weeks, now I don't really bruise anywhere anymore.

I never really tried to cover them up either, if any guys at work pointed it out I'd just be like "yeah it's from all the rough sex...with my GIRLFRIEND"...it amused them.

The first week when I was dancing my knees looked like I got beat with a baseball bat, seriously. My friends who didnt dance couldnt understand how in the hell I could possibly inflict that much damage on my knees just from stage! I knew what to expect because my roomate had started dancing a month before I had and I saw her knees after her first week...I started taking potassium pills from GNC and after a couple weeks all was pretty much well in stripperkneeland...I still get pretty banged up at work because I work in a crazy BYOB club and there are always coolers laying about to bang your shins on. But as the other girls said, your body will adjust to the "wear and tear" that occurs during frequent pole/floor shit and you will stop bruising.
