    Default birthcontrol without the pill?

i have 2 months left of my bc pill before i go back for a checkup and new prescription.. id really like to get off the pill all together.. im going to ask my doc when I go but was wondering if anyone else uses a birthcontrol that isnt a pain to deal with and isnt a pill/chemical.. I know about the rhythm method but i dont want to have to plan sex.. any ideas?

If you're looking for birth control methods that prevent ovulation, there's the Patch and the Depo Provera shot. The Patch sticks to your skin like a band-aid, and secretes chemicals through your skin. The Depo gets injected with a needle into your arm muscle(it doesn't hurt as much as it sounds!). I like the idea of the Depo, especially since one shot lasts for 3 months and the high hormone doses causes loss of menstrual periods for most people on it; however, the reason that I will probably never use Depo again, is because antibiotics ruin it. I paid $45 for the Depo shot last fall, as opposed to paying $20 for pills, because it was more convenient(not having to take pills every day). Whaddyaknow, 3 weeks later I got strep and had to take antibiotics. Not only did the antibiotics interfere with the birth control, but I had my period for 3 weeks straight, and I wasn't able to get another shot until the original 3 months were up(so essentially I paid $45 for 3 weeks of protection, aka 1 sexual act...what a rip-off!).

But if you do not like the idea of chemicals/hormones, there are always condoms. However, I do not like condoms because it sometimes interferes with the sensation/feeling for some guys, and because I've had a lot of unlucky experiences with them(having a condom break during my ovulating week, right before a 3-day holiday weekend when Planned Parenthood was closed, got me pregnant once before and made me very VERY leary of relying on just condoms!). However, they are better than chancing it.

There is always the withdrawal method, but it's definitely not the most efficient either! Hmmm maybe combining condoms and withdrawaling in time would be the best idea?

Condoms and sponges are your best bet.. never ever use the rhythm method... I'll say the joke once and again:

What do you call a woman who uses the rhythm method?
    Pregnant.

Hot Urban rumor. Eat river and lake caught fish in america. Extremely high in Estrogen for decades of excessives amounts passed through bodies and not being removed in the reclamation process. Could explain EMO music too.

NuvaRing! I love it, love it, love it! It stays in during everything, even hot rough sex. I will never go back to pills. Pills made me sick b/c of the spikes in hormone levels, the NuvaRing is a continuous low-dose release.

if i ever need to go on birth control im gonna try to nuva ring, totally... pills make me sick, ugh...

and about the rhythm method, theres more to it then just timing... if you look up fertility awareness method, it is just as effective as condoms and the pill, but it takes a LOT of work... its also the method to use when trying to get pregnant... however it will onyl do any good if you have regular cycles...

theres also sponge, diaphragm, cervical cap (one of those two is only used for women who have had children) IUD, and prolly a bunch im forgetting...

If you've already had a baby, the copper IUD lasts for up to eight years and is completely non-hormonal. However, if you've never had a baby, you run a very high risk of expelling it. I tried it and within a week it was hanging out my cervix and I had to have it removed... lots of pain and lots of money gone, for nothing.

I lurve my pill. I know I've been on it too long (about 10 years) and I should get off it, but I'm too scared of the anaesthesia to be sterilized and I can't find another method I like as well as the pill.
