I've been taking three tbsp three times a day (I mix it with water in a shot glass) before meals. I guess it's supposed to help you lose weight but I just started today. Anyone have any experiance with it?

If you think school is hard, try being stupid.
Wow... it DOES surpress the appetite! Heh, one shot of this stuff and you won't be hungry for HOURS! ^.^

Hmm. That sounds interesting!
Let me know how it goes. But be careful-- I once knew a girl who drank vinegar to help her purge.![]()
Apple cider vinegar is not acidic in the body--in fact, it turns alkaline. So it is safe to drink.

What kind of damage can it do then?

^It only says on the bottle that it can be harsh on your stomach (it feels kind of funny right after you drink it but nothing very bad). But, a few tablespoons at a time shouldn't hurt you (well, maybe if you have an ucler or something). I mean, people consume vinegar all the time in dressings and stuff. The bottle also says it helps with circulation.

I pour a couple tablespoons into a regular sized glass of water a couple of times a day--easier on the tummy, and just as effective. It also does amazing things for the skin.
^^ Really! My skin is messed up. what exactly does it help?
Gives your skin a nice healthy glow, and reduces blemishes.
It also helps with Urinary Tract/Bladder Infections. It's the best homeopathic remedy there is, IMO
Bella, it's not healthy to go HOURS without eating. You are supposed to eat every couple of hours to keep your metabolism up and keep your body burning any excess fat...otherwise, your body will begin to store the fat.

ACV works for me. I helps me lose weight SOMHOW. I think it helps my digestion which helps me with my skin. I feel like it gets rid of extra gas in my system and eliminates any bit of bloat I have.
When I was 14 lol my friend and I drank this stuff before each meal to increase our metabolisms to be super fast 14 year old metabolisms. That stuff is nasty, I recommend you just go get it in pill form, that is unless you don't mind the taste.
I've really been wanting to try this stuff out a daily basis, but it was so freaking yucky to me (even when mixed I mixed it with water) that I usually wasn't able to keep it down (super gross, I know).
SO I mixed with apple juice and now it tastes yummy, kind of like a tangy apple cider. Sometimes I add a dash of cinnamon, to give it a little sweetness, and it tastes like kind of like liquid apple pie! A delish drink that helps curb sweet cravings, supresses your appetite, kills bloat, AND makes your skin glow? Perfect!![]()
I had always heard apple cider vinegar was used to break down fat, or somehow counteract the fat in the food you were eating.
i looked it up and found an good homeopathic site about the acv: http://www.earthclinic.com/Remedies/acvinegar.html

LIQUID VS PILLS
Frequently Asked Question:
Does ACV in pill format deliver the same health benefit as ACV in the Liquid unpasteurized format?
Ted replies, "No. ACV in pill form is chemically not the same as a liquid form. You will not have the same benefits of the pill form as you do the liquid form. The reason is really simple: there is often no ACV in ACV pills. Companies will usually use anything weak organic acid salts plus flavoring to make it smell like ACV. Vinegar, or in chemical terms is called 5% acetic acid only exists in liquid form, it does not exist in dry form."

BRAND (get unpasteruized acvinegar!)
Brands of Apple Cider Vinegar
The organic and unpastuerized brand "Bragg" seems to be popular with people in the United States, but there are many, many more to try. We suggest you try them all and see which one your body responds best to. We do not suggest drinking acv bought at the grocery store EXCEPT in the event of food poisoning. We have no validating studies to back this up, but we think grocery brands like Heinz are far more acidic and as such can kill off the bacteria causing the poisoning more quickly.

WARNING
#1: Apple Cider Vinegar & Dental Enamel
Here is the original email sent to us in 2005 from Dr. Yong, a dentist from London, warning us abouthe dental enamel issue. Dr. Yong writes, "Warning - Taking cider vinegar by sipping it during the day may very well help cure some of these allergies, however, it will ruin the enamel on the teeth to such an extent that it may be lost entirely. As a dentist I have seen the effects of regular acid intake whether it be carbonated water or a natural acid like lemon juice - yes very cleansing to the system, but a disaster in the mouth. It leads to very costly mouth rehabilitation which can cost thousands of pounds. The first thing patients will usually notice is yellowing of the teeth and sensitivity as the enamel is lost. I am very much into holistic medicine and am training as a homeopath so understand when people wish to look for alternatives to self cure, however be aware that regular intake of vinegars and other acids will have deleterious oral effects!"

ooo, i'm going to have to try this![]()
i've used it as a hair/scalp rinse for years...but i've never tried drinking it...
This stuff is also GREAT if you have asthma or chest congestion! Winter time is really hard for me, because I have mold/dust allergies that go crazy when I'm cooped up inside for any long length of time. ACV breaks up my chest congestion, which helps me breathe a little easier![]()
Try mixing in a tablespoon of local honey with it. That helps the taste allot too.
NICE!!! Will do!

hahaha, i just had to get up and drink some half-way through this thread out of curiosity because ive been snacking too much on unhealthy things while waiting for dinner and my skin always gets bad when im on birth control. i already feel less hungry and over time hopefully it will help my blemish problem too!
im a vegetarian so trying hard to eat more beans! like a can of beans each day blah but my stomach is like a rock afterwards... been doing the apple cider vinegar thing and take it like a shot.. fill a shot glass with splash of water.. splash of lemon juice and splash of apple cider vinegar braggs.. and throw it down like a shot.. my years of getting jeiger down helps .. one before i eat.. one after.. and if later in the day still feel the squirmy beans in there ill take another.. water and lemon juice cant hurt and the vinegar bottle said 1-3 times a day or more.. so dont think you can take too much of that either.. it really feels like the combo breaks things down
