Default Need info on Boston clubs ASAP!!

My boyfriend is going up for a promotion and there is a chance we may get relocated to Boston. I have read posts about Boston but the impression I am getting is that most of the clubs are upscale hustle clubs. I would love to work in a club like the one I am at now in Portland....it is a small club where everyone knows everyone, no competition between dancers and the girls arent all fucked up on drugs, great money, and excellent management! Does that exist in Boston? and if it does what can I expect money-wise? I also have a number of large tattoos...is that excepted in the clubs out there?
Any information would be greatly appreciated!!
    Thanks!!

If you want a club like you described I'd say take the 60 minute drive to K2U in Woonsocket, RI. I haven't worked in boston (checked them out and went to amateur nights), so hopefully someone with Boston experience can help you out. I just know that when I lived in Worcester, MA- I wasn't impressed with the MA clubs and prefer the RI clubs. Maybe try Ten's in Salisbury- a couple years ago they totally remodeled- looks gorgeous- but I dont know how the money is. Yeah, I'm not much help- sorry.

I'm not from Boston, but worked there recently while travelling. There are only two clubs in the city proper. Centerfolds is the upscale club, very nice inside but I can't tell you what it's like to work there; I auditioned and was "hired" but the manager wouldn't book me until the following week, even though I wasn't going to be in town then. From what I've heard and experienced, they are very picky with hiring, and obsessed with girls being "fat." I was told the reason they couldn't book me in advance if I was going to be in town again in the future was that I "might gain weight." They probably wouldn't like your tats, but you could try.

The other club, the Glass Slipper, is right next door. I worked there for a few days, but it was a dump and very difficult to make money. Most money is from stage tips, and then there is a drink comission of $4 on a $30 "ladies drink" that customers are supposed to buy you. Private dances are nude and 3 feet away, very hard to sell. When I was there, their new VIP wasn't open yet. If it's open now you *might* be able to make money at this club, but I kind of doubt it.

Local girls told me I should check out Alex's and Squire in the outlying suburbs, but I didn't have time.

I've heard of a lot of crazy shit, but that has to at least be in the top 3. That is so fucking rotten. I could go on and on--damn I'd just be giggling with the customers about how stupid that is, even the really stupid customers know better than that. Does it have some mysterious potion to make you like a lady?????? Vegas is at least doing it the proper way--$10-$20 drinks, and I think even in major cities (and Boston is really not!) some bullshit $30 ladies' drink wouldn't fly. And a fucking $4 commission, that's like when I was waiting tables and 2 lousy women tipped me $3.94 because I was 6 cents short of good enough for four whole bucks!

I'm sorry I can't offer much to say pertaining to your question--although I have been to Boston and other parts of Mass before---I mean, liberal place the northeast, which I know you can appreciate coming from Portland. IMO there are plenty of educated men's men, but of course it all depends on the club's rules/local laws--which sound awful for some of them, and if I was an educated man who liked 'the finer things in life' I'd be lookin elsewhere.

Then again, you are definitely going to encounter some big attitudes than yr used to in chill Portland. But hopefully some more $ to along with it, right?

Well good luck and I hope you enjoy New England even if the work situation doesn't work out so well.

There is some good advice already here,,, K-2 in RI is very much a regluars club like you mention but not super upscale etc. Also Alex's in stoughton is like that as well. I dont know how easy it would be to get into a place like this and be accepted etc. Squire,,,, I dont really see that as that type of place from a customers point of view, I knew a dancer there very well but have lots contact and not even sure if she is there anymore. In my opinion, Tens is a big waste of money for the customer as the bouncers stand right over your private dances and wont even let you lean forward to readjust your seating without stepping in and re-establishing the distance etc.

Where do you work in portland? Expect high contact if you try to dance in Providence.

Ugh. Doesnt sound good!! I work at Marys in Portland...I think Marys is a one-of-a-kind strip club...I will be hard pressed to find anything similar anywhere else. As for contact I just dont tolerate it! Not light, medium, NADA! So in that respect Boston isnt all bad news...Oh well! Maybe I will fly to Portland once a month or maybe I will tell him to have fun without me...hahaha!!

Kind of off topic, but this past week the most enjoyable customers I've had were from Portland! (I work in Manhattan) 3 of them, and 2 from Washington....respectful, nice, smelling good, even gave me an xtra tip...oh AND attractive which of course isn't what yr looking for in this industry but is always great. I'd love to go where yr from...

Please let us know how it goes for you...when will you know if yr coming to Boston?

I'm trying really hard to find a decent club around here too, and I was actually thinking of packing up my things and moving to Portland!! haha I've heard so many awesome things. Maybe I'll just try the Woonsocket club, sounds alright, hope they love the tattoos.

Oh, whatever you do, do not work at the Glass Slipper.
