I thought Meridia was only recommended for people who are obese??

It just sounds dangerous to be using a pill for an obese person when you're not even close! OTOH, I've heard that it's a very effective tool for weight loss!

I hear this is going to be available over-the-counter, so soon it won't be just the obese taking it. I'd like to know more about it if anyone has any experience, please tell!

It's for people with 30 lbs or more of weight to lose.....Is that obese?

Is that the pill that blocks the absorption of fat? If so, you might want to check out the side effects. All the fat (grease and oil) that isn't getting absorbed into your body has to go somewhere... that's right, it goes out with the rest of the waste. The fat-blocking pill might make you thinner, but it'll also give you greasy, oily, runny diarrhea and "involuntary anal leakage." Nothing sexier than bending over in front of a guy onstage with runny mud dripping down your thighs.

No , Meridia makes you feel full on less food(I think)....I don't really eat that much fat to need a pill that blocks it. Especially if involuntary anal leakage is a side effect. I can think of countless bad scenarios with that .....EW. Think about that! "Hey guys! Good news! I lost 15lbs! Sorry I can't control my bowels!!!"

    I don't know why I think that's funny....

From meridia's website, they say it's a appetite suppressant, not a fat absorption blocker. If all it does is curb appetite, it should not cause any grease squirts. It's the fat-blockers that cause leaky, oily stool.

BF's sis is on Meridia and says its been working for her. She is obese an has been struggling with her weight for some time, so if this works for her it's pretty good news. I've just heard this through the grapevine, so I haven't seen firsthand evidence. Sounds promising though.

I've tried it, I took it for three weeks and went down 2 sizes.
It IS supossed to be a pill for the obese, but I bought it over the internet.
Before trying that one I'd tried Phentermine, and it's way stronger. The thing about Phen is that it's a short-term pill (usually not more than 8 weeks), and meridia you can take it up to two years.

I'm trying to buy it again, but I can't find the website. I've tried a lot of pills and that meridia and Phentermine are the only ones that actually worked for me.
