A Good Girl With Bad Intentions
I relate to this alot of metal i feel is way to abrasive to dance to although I love it. I mean i can't be sexy with a guy screaming lyrics you can't even makeout. Welcome to the Jungle is by far the hardest song I have danced to more so the end of the song not the beging. For me I try to find rock bands that don't have alot of screaming the nickleback and collective soul (i relize overplayed and not popular but i like it.) also deflepord and poision.
When I'm dancing, I always keep the same pace regardless of what music is playing. It's too complicated to try and keep beat with the music, IMO.
I dance to metal and gothic rock all the time... you just have to work at it to make it sexy... which when you do works very well. If it is a 'fast' song cut the beat at least in half instead of actually dancing on the beat. Also, do a lot more seductive movement... more floorwork, etc. Looks at guys straight in the eye... the music calls for a dominant woman. Make sure your clothing fits the type of music too. I know it sounds silly but I kind of act like I'm in a music video for one of these bands. A little really goes a long way... a certain look, a certain movement at the perfect beat of the song. Oh... and a good idea is to learn some of the lyrics cause some of them r really sexy. One last thing... no death metal... that'll really turn guys off... that is actually way to hard for a club.
Some slow 'metal' songs:
Nine Inch Nails - Closer
Godsmack - Serenity
Deftones - Change
Godsmack - Voodoo
Korn - Freak on a Leash
Most Marilyn Manson Songs
A Perfect Circle - Judith
Puscifer - Revelation 22:20
Rob Zombie - Pussy Liquor
Those r a few suggestions for ya!
I find them hard to dance to because you have to actively keep a steady pace even when you just want to dance to the music.
If you think school is hard, try being stupid.
If you are talking fast, like speed metal type of fast, yeah, not very sexy music at all. Hard to move sexy to a song that has 220 BPM.
Don't dance to music that you like as much as dancing to music that the customers like. System of a Down, Evenessence and other technically difficult music is not good for stripping to. Those kinds of musicians live to impress other musicians. I doubt that dance-ability ever enters their minds when writing songs.

^^^That's why I picked GNR; the generation of men in the SC were reeeaaalllly into it and I stood out from all the girls playing hip hop that bugged the older gentlemen.

a good trick (if you have problems dancing to it) is to dance to every other beat. it makes it slower and more seductive and doesn't look bad at all. i can dance faster, but i do this sometimes when i'm tired or just don't feel like dancing faster. you're still in time with the song and it doesn't look like you "can't keep up" at all. i hope i described what i'm talking about well. it might take a couple times to get used to it, but it works. for the songs that are really really fast (and only use them if they make you money) you can do floor work or lots of sexy posing/etc during the harder parts.

and just to add to velour's list (i already dance to the ones she mentioned) here are some other "slower", but still heavy, songs...
michael hutchence (might be listed as INXS) cover of "the passanger" - original by iggy pop
rob zombie - house of 1000 corpses
rob zombie - living dead girl
garbage - most songs.. esp #1 crush & queer
NIN - sanctified
tool - MANY songs
deftones - fly
radiohead - creep
there are also some softer songs that are still alternative and work great.. artists like portishead, tori amos, the cure, depeche mode, etc.
i left out the more underground artists since it can be tricky to make money with obscure music. i do it....... but only when the timing is right. if i can dance to the pixies, you're damned right i will.![]()

oh pussy liqour is a staple of mine xxoxoxoxx
Nope - I love it. I actually don't really care for the DJs who insist on a ballad for the last song.
I have taught that the sky in all its zones is mortal and its substance was formed by a process of birth

Nope, I may adjust my speed a teeny bit but I won't dance too fast. Too fast usually looks sloppy. Though I have seen a couple of girls that can dance fast and still maintain some sort of grace... it's rare though.

You have to find the downbeat and dance to that. It forces you to dance slower.
I still don't think that would help in speed metal though, lol.
Ooh, I love dancing to System Of A Down!
I quite like metal sets and I love techno so Im used to dancing to fast music.
Its probably just a matter of getting used to the bests and learning to feel the music. As others have said you can dance in half time, you can slow some moves down even more. I do a bit of both and dance on the beat too. Its definatly music to have attitude to though! (Oh and hair is good too, lol)![]()
