You beat me to it. Pressed powder or eyeshadow over my eyeliner every time. Even if you don't want to look made up, you can always take a nude colored shadow across your lid just to set the eyeliner.

Some times I even do the lining twice: Once to start with, then eyeshadow over the line, then line again on top of the shadow. Doing it that was has worked wonders for me; I can go SWIMMING and the eyeliner won't budge, and I don't even bother with expensive eyeliners to achieve this. I use Milani's mechanical eyeliner pencils and they stay put this was.

Wow, I don't even OWN eyeshadow that colorful or shiny... I think? I wish I could do eye make up like you girls! Maybe I'll experiment this weekend... Or someone from SD can lend a hand?

Emily, you should invest in the MAC paints. They'll not only hold the shadows all night, but it'll help bring out the colors. For a lot of oomph on the colors, use MAC Paints with MAC CCB's. Load the colors on. It will also help with the blending.

If you want to take pics of your makeup, use a piece of tissue folded over once and lightly drape it over the flash. It helps prevent the flash from making your eyes wash out and it also helps keep the sparkles in the shadows to "light up".

You'd be pretty in greens from MAC. The extra pigment MAC shadows is the only reason I buy them and not others. Although after Darcy's pics MakeUpForever sounds like a good one to try. If you plan on buying more than 2-3 items just go to the mac counter and ask them to do your eyes for you in some pretty colors. Then buy 2-4 items they put on you.

I'm doing greens tonight so I will take pics and post them tommorow sometime. I don't strip anymore but I still like doing stripper eyemakeup when I go out.

Right now I'm ransacking my bathroom looking for my golden olive pigment. I can't find it! *wails* WHY CAN'T I BE MORE ORGANIZED??? I just have too much "stuff"

Believe it or not, I used two different MAC paints in that picture.

I used stillife as a base on the entire lid, and then I used a black called graphito on the outside corners, but I use that sparingly because black paint is scaaaary. The shadows I used were from Bare Escentuals. That might have been the problem. It lasted all night (actually still have a lot of it on now!), but it didn't have that glam look.

I have some Urban Decay and Dior shadows that are very pigmented. I'll try those tonight.

    Some blues for ya...

Not entirely sure, but I think...

Sea Me shadestick - up to crease, out to the cat eye shape and underneath
Clear Sky Blue pigment - lid
Blue pigment - crease, outer 3rd, and underneath
Arena e/s - browbone blended down
    Fluidline in Blacktrack to line

This is my friend, but I know it's Sea Me shadestick with Aquadisiac e/s on the lid. Not sure what else she used.

    Blue Boy paint - lid
    Stilife paint - brow
Clear Sky Blue pigment - inner lid
    Blue pigment - outer lid
    Fuchsia pigment - crease
    Reflects Blue - all over
    Blacktrack to line

Sharkskin shadestick - up to crease, cat eye, and underneath
Deep Truth e/s - on top of sharkskin and under neath
Pink Pearl pigment - blended in the inner and outer crease into deep truth
Arena e/s - browbone blended down
    Fluidline to line

dont remember this one sorry, I think clear sky blue pigment.

Blue pigment on lid, Deep Truth e/s in crease, outer v, and underneath, Arena e/s on brow blended down, Fluidline to line

All I remember is Electric Eel e/s (which looks turquoise on me for some reason) with Deep Truth e/s underneath, Arena on brow

I love blues, you look good in them.
Blue is a very hard color to do though - either you look great, or you look like a hooker >.< I dunno how many times I've missed with blues.

blues are tricky with me because I have blue eyes, but pinks are never right. But I love the bright eye shadow look!

I can't do them without looking like I have conjunctivitis.

    ^^^ you goof!
And yes, blues hate me.. I tried to do the pameral anderson look one time from the playboy cover, but all night people asked me if I was tired.
Try a light light blue almost grey, that works for me.

I think anyone can wear almost any color, it just depends on the shade and the application. I have darker skin so I can wear a really bright color w/o looking clownish. If you are not tan, you can still wear them, they just need to be toned down a bit. Look for pale blues and navy colors.

I think purple, green, and full on black look great on blue eyes. Also warm colors like bronzes, coppers, and golds.

If anyone ever works at Christie's Tempe AZ, get the makeup artist LaRue to do your eyes ($15 with lashes + tip). She is fucking awesome! I have learned so much from her just by paying attention to her technique and asking lots of questions. If you have a makeup artist at your club, try using her once in a while to learn something new!

Make Up For Ever eyeshadows are amazing. Sometimes they're actually TOO good. The pigment in them is so amazingly strong. That purple I'm wearing, it actually stains my lids. When I wear it, I'll often have a purple tint to my lids for 2 days afterwards, even if I scrub at it. They're great for work.

Heh, not a lot of people know it but I actually did a 12 month degree in makeup artistry and technology (which I hated and have never used, other than to do my own makeup), and Make Up For Ever was the eyeshadow that all my trainers recommended if you want one that will STICK.
