you should see the unedited version! There are some hot scenes in there.

I love this movie. Definitely in my top 5 all time favorites.

I thought it was well-made, but too upsetting. I saw it twice when it was out in theaters and I don't want to see it again. I just can't take it; it's too upsetting for me. I feel the same way about Urban Cowboy... great movie, but I don't want to see it ever again.

Yek, that suprises me that you feel that way. I think film-making is an art (or at least it is in its purset form) and art is most powerful when it makes you feel something.

It doesn't have to be warm-fuzzy for it to be felt.

Oh no, I agree completely! I'm glad I saw them. They were powerful and necessary films. I just don't want to see them again.

I'm with Yekefah on this one - I saw it once, it was very well-done and powerful, and I don't think I ever want to see it again. Granted, I saw it with some friends not having any clue what it was going to be about, so it was all rather unexpected, but still, I left feeling like I'd been run over by a steamroller. I'm not sure if I'm going to want to see Brokeback Mountain again either, even though it was an amazing film I recommend seeing once to everyone.

I saw this for the second time last night (on lifetime too!) and while it's a good movie, it gets me too emotionally riled up. I think I'll have a heart attack if I have to see that again. It makes me waaaayy too disturbed.

I've seen this one so many times. It is really upsetting, and no matter how many times I watch it, I dread watching the last half hour or so.

I only watched this movie one time and can't bear to see it again. I grew up two counties over from where the real life killings took place (unlike the movie version there were actually three people killed in the farmhouse).

My parents actually knew the parents of the young mother who was killed with "Brandon", and my father had spoken with the county sheriff there on a number of occasions prior to the crime happening. To this day, folks in that county don't like the subject being brought up. Its just a bit too off the charts for most rural Nebraskans to comprehend.

I liked that movie. I think Hilary Swank is such a wicked actress.

Doc, I read the crimelibrary entry after I saw this thread...I was horrified. It can happen in "enlightened" areas too (Gwen Arujo was murdered in the same way, for the same reason, in the San Francisco Bay area.) I do love living in the Rockies-Midwest but I have noticed how close-minded some locals are....It makes me sad.
