    Angry X-Pole problem.....

Don't get me wrong i LOVE my X-Pole, what i done love however is the pain and torture of trying to get the poles apart!
My little rods are so bent out of shape its unbelievable, ive greased the joints, put ice on them to shrink the metal but it just seems to get harder and harder to get it apart, if i lived alone i would just keep it up but i live with my parents and put it up in the lounge whenever i get the chance.
Anyone else have the same problem? How are the new release rods compared to the old rods u get in your kit?

yes, i've heard about the rod problem. honestly, there is no way those tiny little rods can unstick a stuck pole.

also, ice doesn't shrink metal, it expands it. you need to put ice on the "female" end of the pole and heat on the "male" part, close to the joints.

also, invest in a pair of rubber strap wrenches, these are the best way to get stuck parts apart..here's a pic of what i'm talking about...

do NOT buy cheap ones though..they will break. get a good pair of them.

sticking is a common problem in all multi piece poles.

X-pole have some super-dooper release rods now, they have "cups" on the end with foam inside to stop scratching, and a pin that goes all the way through and big thick long handles. Makes even the most stuck poles come apart!!
Also try putting the rods though and laying the pole down on its side and pressing down on the pole to push the rods away from each other (although this is how my original thin rods got bent!!!)

Even though this is an old post, i feel the need to contribute for anyone with a similar problem. I have an older pole with the threads (the pieces screw together). Well, they got soooooo stuck- nothing worked! Luckily my bf suggested taking it to a place that does tires as they would have power tools. Well, they got it apart without any damage! So if you're desperate its worth a shot!

Also anti-seize lubricant from an auto store put on treads will prevent a future problem .
