Just thought I'd throw this out there b/c I haven't seen anything posted about New Orleans clubs in a while. How is business? Have you see an increase/decrease of $$ post-Katrina?![]()

i've never gone but am planning to over spring break.. i have friends though who have moved down there from the baltimore hustler or that frequently go down to work. if you're a good hustler and dont mind putting up with deja vu bullshit, you can make lots of money![]()
I'm curious too. Lady Gwen & I will be hitting NOLA sometime (relatives & pals in the area.) Any good hotel recommendations? Any non-Deja Vu clubs? (please!)

Rick's or Gold Club in the Quarter - don't bother with the rest of the non-DV clubs. I say don't bother with the DV ones either![]()
You should check out Big Daddy's for fun - the one with the legs swinging out over the street![]()
If you want to try working off Bourbon Street, check out Visions in New Orleans east (504) 240-0069 or Club Eden in Metairie (504) 456-1155.
Visions is pretty good money if you can stand the grabass. You walk the very long double-horshshoe bar for tips and as soon as you get off the bar you'll have a line of dudes waiting for dances. You'll work your ass off but you'll leave with cash. Manager may try to bullshit you about hiring but stand your ground and he'll let you in![]()
I think at Eden you won't have much competition - think the girls there are just not much for hustling. Probably not quite as much money as Visions but may be worth a shot. I worked there years ago before it changed owners and was a pretty good place to work. Both of these get locals crowds who LOVE to see new girls.
I can't wait to get back there. I'm heading there for two weeks at the end of March! Hope to see some SW dancers working with me!!!

Ricks and Gold Club are excellent, Big Daddy's, do they still do the shower
thing there. I had friends that worked there and I wasn't into the idea of someone
hosing me down. Is Larry Flints Hustler Club or Barely Legal still open down there?

The Hustler Club and Barely Legal are still open. Don't know how business is though. I don't like Deja Vu clubs, so I'm not exactly fair when I talk about them.

I'm not either so no worries. I have been very tempted to go back down there.
Though, I don't want to see the ruin of a City that was once my favorite place
to be. I don't think it would sit well with me because I know how it was and
I don't know how the conventions are there and it seems Vegas has all the
business now because of Katrina. Doesn't Vegas even do a Mardi Gras now?

just curious, whats the "problem" with Vu clubs
Never worked for em, so I don't know

I'm not a fully nude kinda gal, I started dancing in New Orleans.
I helped open the Crazy Horse which was part of Gold Club at the time
and is now a DV club, Scarletts Cabaret the first club I ever worked at
is now a DV club. I just don't like the companies philosophy. I might be
a little jaded because both of those clubs were really fantastic to work at
and now they might as well be dead. Plus after Katrina here I am up north
in the middle of freaking winter wishing for some kind of adventure because
I drive over an hour to work at a club that I would never of stepped foot in,
I guess the club I work in right now reminds me of Show Bar or as we all
called it Ho bar, I learned how to dance on 8 inch heels there because at the
Crazy Horse you had to wear 8 inch heels that was the minimum, I was use to
dancing on 6 inch heels so Shawn the daytime guy let me use the stage to practice
so I didn't fall off the bar at the Crazy Horse, It didn't have anything to hold on to
so if you fell you fell a long way to the floor.
I worked for a DV wanna be club up here, they took a ton of money
The manager was from a DV club, it was unprofessional in a ton
of ways and they treat you like a child or dirt. They put you on a
schedule and if you didn't show they would fine you 100 bucks.
Sorry not how I got use to working, it just wasn't the right fit for me.

^^Yep. In a nutshell, DV is the wal-mart of strip clubs, as far as a place to work. Take take take and no give. Treat dancers like children, or worse, like androids. They will fuck you over any way they can, AND they expect you to smile and pretend to like it.
By the way I wasn't recommending Big Daddy's as a place to work but just a place to go for entertainment![]()
I am very sorry to see the Deja Vu corpofuck machine has all but taken over the club scene in New Orleans. My first club was Maiden Voyage, long before it was a Hustler and way before Rick's even opened. That was a hell of a good place to work back then and it's a damn shame it was allowed to go to such ruin and then got sold into DV fuck-you. It would be practically sacreligious for me to even set foot into Hustler Nola now, like desecrating the memory of what was once a fantabulous club. *sigh*
Sorry. lol

I feel your pain. I can imagine Big Daddy's as entertainment. I would hose down
a girl willing to let you but me being that girl, hell no! Sigh so who has worked
in Nola, I miss it not just the money the culture. Have the conventions picked
back up or are you still dancing for FEMA?

I just got back a week ago. I work at Penthouse, and money is normally pretty decent, but Mardi Gras was a fuckin' nightmare. Dudes were pretty much just paying the cover to get inside away from the crowds and didn't give a shit about strippers. Some girls made money, but it came down to finding that 'one' customer.
I've also heard rumors about Ricks going downhill, but can't verify it.
Also heard girls are doing well at Hustler, but I will eat my heels before I work for DV.
There is a convention of 30,000 cardiologists coming to town 3/23-3/27. I have high hopes for this. Here's a link to the convention schedule
http://www.neworleanscvb.com/docs/ConvSchedule1.pdf
As far as hotels go, I own a small condo in the quarter I rent out to out of town dancers. If anyone's interested, PM me. (I know this should be in marketplace, but it kinda pertains to this thread)
I propose a toast - to my self control.... I see you crawling, helpless, on the floor.......

Ehh, Ricks was going down long before Katrina hit. Not surprised it's waaay down now - was already on the path. I imagine it'll be sold into DVfuck-you before long. bleh
Hehe. I often wonder how many DV managers and such read this site, and what they think when they read us trashing them so badlyWell, IF they can read, that is.
I usedto livein nola.Iworked at ricks and temptations...thehustler I didnt dig at all..:rightnow nola is out of control with crime....I would go elsewhere
Keep in mind with the cardiologist convention coming to town - 30,000 attendees does not mean 30,000 cardiologists. It's 30,000 with their spouses, sometimes staff, industry workers, etc. It will probably end up being like Digestive Disease Week was in NOLA ... hurting for $$. There was another medical convention not that long ago and it was the same thing ... no $$ in the clubs. Lots of observers, no tippers.
Docs don't really like to spend - they like it when others spend $$ on them, i.e. pay their hotels, flights, meals, even dances.
Not to burst anyone's bubble. Let's keep our fingers crossed.
The psychologist convention around the end of last year was the same way - no money, tons of them in town. The sponsors brought in Dr. Phil and Bill Cosby to entertain them at night, so I'm sure as dull as that might be to most folks, these psychologists probably attended that rather than the clubs in the quarter.
