    Default Tips on eyebrow shape!

Does anybody have any real good eyebrow shaping tips?

I've had weeks off work for BA healing and have let them grown (gross I know) so that I can get them into a real hot shape ready for going back to work.

I have purchased some eyebrowz stencils but theyr not here yet! And I'm gutted.

    Any tips?

God. I sooo need eyebrow help. One of mine sits a little higher than the other and is shaped slightly different so they have never looked quite right. I am sure hardly anyone notices but I do!! Has anyone had any luck with correcting uneven brows?

I am obsessed with eyebrows. I am a snob when it comes to them. The best thing to do is go to a pro, tell them to leave whatever needs to fill in and give the rest a good shape. This will keep them a bit thicker (which also makes people look a bit younger).

I also find that arab/ persian women do the best eyebrows, although I always have to tell them to keep mine on the thicker side ( I suppose they are used to white girls wanting thin eyebrows- seems like I'm the only one that wants thicker, exotic looking ones). Anyway, just take a look at soem of the persian women around town, they always have amazing brows, and ask them who does them. Get them done, then eitehr go back when needed, or keep up with the shape.

I change my shape every few months, and right now I'm into a thicker front, and higher arch with a an elongated brow (think marilyn, but more shaped).

Oh, also, I find that thicker brows balance out my slightly wide nose, because my otehr features arer small, and this creates some balance. I also liekthicker brows when someone has very long hair... it just gives the face a bit more oomph.

It might be worth it to go a trained eyebrow professional. Not just the nail lady that also does brows, but the lady at the Anastasia counter (or something like that.)

That's where I found some brow help.

Fawn is right - go to a pro. I like the Anastasia mini salon that they have inside most Nordstroms.

I never change the shape of mine. I finally found the perfect shape, so I guess I'm weary of changing it in case I have a hard time getting back to it. Sometimes I do fill them in to be slightly thinner or thicker, but never change the actual shape.

I went to the brow lady at nordstroms b/c everyone said she did the best job. Well, she was more like a brow nazi IMO. I like them thicker, but because of genetics they are sparse. Anyway, I really think my face looks funny when they grow into the middle. She was insistant that I let that middle part grow. She also used a stensil which seemed to be made for someone with a bigger face. It seemed like ethically she could not do what I wanted even though I was the customer and I was paying 25 bucks plus tip. In the end she cleaned up the middle area. I was happier, but I didn't think that experience was worth 30 bucks. Just my $.02 (as pooka says).

I ended up spending $100 at the Anastasia counter, including the products I bought.

I walked away and I was like, "omg, did I just spend $100 on my eyebrows?"....but I think it was worth it. I still use the stencils now. I'm a recovering "parentheses" eyebrow chick.

Here's a link to a tutorial on eyebrow shaping. She uses a pencil in the tutorial, but I prefer eyeshadow and an angle brush.

    hey girls

    im from the uk!!

so I call up a ton of beauty salons etc etc and find some lady highly recommended by my friends (who happen to have lovely bros). Managed to get booked in today. Went. OH. MI. GOD. She has left me looking shocked! She has literally put no shape (well no more than i already sorta had), she has waxed away a million hairs, instead of leaving the sections that need to thicken out.

    AWFUL

So iv bought an emergency eyebrow stencil kit and filled them in myself.s

God I hate that woman now. Unbelievably so.

Thank jesus for eyebrow stencils, pencils and powders - and be rid of the over zelous waxing 'things' that are beauticians! tut!

I just tried the Spectra tutorial. My brows turned out really nicely!

I've heard threading is really good as well. Indian beauty shops offer it usually.

I went to the Anastasia salon in Sephora in Manhatten. I know you can buy her products online from Sephora.com

ooooh I'm planning on hitting up anastasia's during the NYC SF. I want to be an eyebrow snob too but have the same problem as Bridgette; one is higher and shaped slightly different. I swear to God no matter how hard I try I simply cannot get them to look the same. It's very frustrating.

Troublemaker, you can find a list of the anastasia locations on nordy's website.

Yes, I agree. Middle Eastern women tend to have the best looking eye-brows. It also helps that alot of them have that dark thick hair. I wish mine were that thick. I had thick eyebrows but CAN'T grow them back to virgin brows. I wish.
