    Default My Foster Kid

Okay, I was finally assigned the foster kid I'm going to tutor... It's a 15 year-old girl. So... we've been instructed by my teacher to dress appropriately. This is what my left ear looks like... Should I take some needle-nose pliars to my ear before I tutor her?

wow thats a tough question. For some reasons i think yes you should especailly if this is experince for your career you want to appear as proffenanal as possiable becuse you want to make the impression that you want to be there.

On the other hand i think keeping it in makes you relatabel to the teen and approachable. Mainting you own indvidauality is impornant but at some point you will have to part with it.

    thats just my .02

No but dress extra professional to make up for it, maybe?

Can you cover it with your hair?

I think if you wear your hair down and dress conservatively, like a business dress or a long skirt and blouse, you should be fine.

I would dress very consertive and professional, but leave the ears alone. It is somethign that girl will see and say Oh, how cool. And she will think she can relate to you better. It shows your not another stuffy adult who doesn't understand her.

I would say unnecessary - if they wanted you to remove piercing they would have said.

My teacher said I should at least remove the bar when I asked him and he said probably all of them, too... But I feel he does things over the top. So, I removed the bar (that won't be so hard to take out and put back in over and over) and I'm gonna put on some slacks right now...

I ay take out the bar but leave the others, like you did, sounds the best. she'll think you're cool, or at least not an enemy (too adult). So it'll hopefully help you two bond a bit
