I've got 2 piercings in the cartilage of my ear, at the top, and I've had them for about a year. I never had any sensitivity issues or infections or anything, but out of the blue a few days ago, I was messing with the earring in the hole, like spinning it out of boredom, and the back of it was stuck to my ear and crusty! I know that's gross, but I must continue... I took out the earring and cleaned it with some solution that I got from when I had my other piercings. I soaked the earring and cleaned the hole and it didn't look infected or red or swollen, so I put the earring back in. The next day the same exact thing happened. I just pulled it out again and I'm while cleaning some of this crusty stuff off my ear, I can feel the hole is oozing. It's disgusting. The ooze is clear and very sticky, and there's not much of it. What is causing this? This is the same ring I've had since I got the piercing, so there's no allergy issue. And none of my other piercings are weird... wtf?! Still no signs of infection (pain, redness, swelling) other than the crusty stuff. If I take out the ring for a few days, I'm a afraid the hole will close cuz that's what always happens to my piercings, no matter how long I've had them!! What can I do to make the grossness stop?
