This is supposed to be a thread for and about black strippers and the things we deal with in this industry. This is not a thread about who can shake/clap/bounce their ass.
When ya'll (and you know the "ya'll" I'm refering to) to booty tricks it's either as a novelty or it's considered "tacky". For us it is the way we make our bread. So if ya'll can make it clap then high-five but this is not the thread to discuss that. I have more to say but I'm tired so I'll get into it tomorrow. Layka you know what's coming.

Um, last club I worked was more of an "urban" type place - well, mixed but mostly urban at night and I worked nights. I am well aware that some serious booty-movin gets the girls alot of stage money. But a better show (and one that makes the girls MORE money) is one where the girls mix it in with some other impressive moves. Like the girl who would climb to the top of the pole, hang away from the pole with her arms and shake her ass at about 10 beats per second. Then slide down fast and HARD into a split and resume shaking while in a split. Or the girl who does some ridiculous pole tricks in between booty shaking sessions. Or the one who can hold herself upside down on the pole with just her arms AND shake ass. Or whatever else it is. That shit is impressive and almost everybody likes to watch it.
That said, I am sort of a sneaky ass-shaker. Nobody expects it from me so when I bust out with it at the right moment, it works![]()

What I was talking about being boring, is the ones who literally just stand or kneel and shake through the whole damn song![]()

Yeh I agree. I understand not going off topic with the booty clapping - but it's Layka's thread anyway and she didnt say anything.
or maybe we could start a booty clapping thread
I was going to keep it real on this post but then I thought better of it. Many post and threads like these are deleted/closed because some feel like it has been discussed enough. It obviously hasn't because we still want to talk about it but for the sake of keeping the peace I'll hold back a bit.
I have personally spoken to Layka so I do know what she wants the thread to be about. As I said before, this thread is supposed to be for black dancers to discuss the industry from out perspective. That was Layka's intention. If a white dancer wants to make a thread about the trials and tribulations of dancing in black clubs as a white woman then by all means do so! But black dancers do need a place to come and rant and rave about this industry because we are often told it's all in our heads or racism doesn't exist or it's just a guy's preference, he's not racist.
I have seen girls girls fill and entire 3 song set with various booty acrobatics and believe me NO ONE was bored. That takes skill and muscle and I don't like when it's trivialized. You have to do what makes money in YOUR club. I can't prance around the stage and twirl around the pole a couple of times and expect to make money. My ass has to work overtime! It's what my customers want and I'm gonna give it to them!
I don't want this thread to be about "us" vs "them". I just want it to be about "us". A place we can discuss various clubs, cities, hustle techniques etc.

Some Douchebag: "[Pimp C] 12:43 am: its true we got to stick together the black people on SW CK you is teh condoleeza of SW"

Seeing as how A) the OP stated that they didn't want for this thread to exclude, b) She obviously posted positively when Bridgette "butted in", and c) she herself has yet to POST that she is officially inspecting skin tone of all those who comment here..... I think ya'll need to chill. And when I say ya'll, I mean you all. No specific place on the palette. Lakya was keeping this thread quite civil, and even jovial, to everyone posting in it. Discussed enough or not (and for an "overly discussed thread, this one is on page 14 and still going...), threads like this get closed due to arguing more often than not. Sure, the topic has veered a bit. But this happens so much, in so many sort of threads. There is no reason why this thread cant be herded back onto the original topic, and be discussed civilly by all.

You're coming across a little narrowminded , I have alot to say, but hopefully you will be able to redeem yourself. I refuse to believe that you're simple. I'm holding out hope that you had a misconception concerning my intentions.
Nope, I stated before that division was NOT my intention. Please READ the original post before posting!!!??!!! I'm very very very positive that I made myself clear before.
I have dealt with the humiliation and pain that division can cause, so I damn sure wouldn't want to subject that burden on to others..despite their race. It's all good though, I hope that you can understand my position and respect it even if you may not be able to totally relate to it. Their's nothing wrong with either race, and I will never go out of my way to make another race feel guilty or ashamed to chime in their views. You have never done anything to me personally, I don't blame an entire race for the state of my community. That's the easy way out. I'm not passing out race cards here, and if any woman of color thinks I am give me back the deck! What I'am attempting to do is create a dialogue that will empower many of us who often times deal with feeling inadquate. Not only do I have to deal with my self body image, and countless other pressures in this industry. But tack on the feeling of being inferior when compared to other ladies that aren't the same race and you will have an idea of what women of color dancers have to deal with.
I'm confident, I believe that I'm pretty, and I feel as though something as trivial as the color of my skin wouldn't hinder me....but I'm older now and I acknowledge the obstacles related to being a black woman in this industry. Now, let me make myself really clear.
I DON'T LIKE WHINERS
I DON'T LIKE WHINING
I DON'T LIKE BLACK PEOPLE TO CRY DISCRIMINATION ALL THE FUCKING TIME.....
BUT BUT BUT BIG PHUCKING BUT
It's theirand it's something we will have to figure a way to work around. I can't just get up and travel at a moments notice without asking ladies if the club if open to ebony dancers. Doesn't that strike you as odd
Doesn't that strike you as a lil...hmmmm....racist? If it doesn't than get on your knees and thank your maker right now that you don't have to exisit in that world. Count your blessings. Just because I mentioned a thread for women of color doesn't mean I'm counting others out. Hell....I even invited Bridgette to stay because she has a very demanding prescene that although may irk me sometimes, I can whole heartendly appreciate, and recognize. So many women here can relate to my plight, women of color is often loosely used to describe only black women. That's not true, I'm talking to the mixed women, spanish mami's, asian women, I'm even talking to the white girl with ethnic features that can RELATE. And the reason I'm discussing this is because we dance around the subject. I love you ladies, but my stripper world is entirely different from yours. If you don't think so I DARE you to go get a deep tan, apply dark makeup, get dark brown contacts and walk in my high heels for one day. Go audition at Hustler and Scores and tell me how you were recieved.
This industry is behind the times. I don't feel discriminated upon often... until I enter the club. Have you ever heard someone whisper to you ( even if you didn't agree with them) that "It's getting dark in here" If you have never been on the recieving end of such comments, again, count yourself lucky.
My beautiful white women, I in no way shape nor form mean to make you feel guilty. I'm pretty sure that many of you have dealt with injustices as well, racisim is NOT a one way street. And honey if you made a whites only thread, MORE POWER TO YA" especially if your thread is meant as a form of empowerment and a way to shed light on cultural differences. If your thread was meant to do your share in this world to close "the gap" than I would applaud your effort, I wouldn't yell " Injustice" too quick, read between the lines and you may learn something![]()
Lmao, the funny thing is that I don't mind sharing how to booty clap, but another thread devouted to that subject would be nice and entertaining! I wouldn't mind discussing how to do it. Matter of fact it would be nice to cover that subject for a refresher course in "make it clap 101"
I hate when guys try to touch my hair for a track check. Why do some guys feel compelled to check my hair is beyond me

Alrighty then...now that I've made my peace with ya'll again. Allow me to digress, back to the PURPOSE at hand![]()
Miss Luscious is my girl, and I feel her pain. She ( like myself) is disgusted, frustrated, and ready for change. I work with her therefore I know firsthand her intentions, and she didn't mean to offend anyone. And I clearly stated in the title of my thread "To keep it real". I hate division so I will make it my mission to keep the peace amongst everyone, I will remain unbiased , I don't play favorites
I don't even like humans!
( even though it would be hard to do so because most people avatars are of inanimate objects)
I will call inappropiate comments out despite your race. But... I did say "Keep it real" and within my community that phrase means don't hold back. We're all adults here, and I refuse to believe that we won't be able to candidly discuss amongst each other issues without being ghetto.... yep... I said it!![]()
*Disclaimer*
Ladies of all races are more than welcome to discuss openly without fear of being flamed. I will throw daggers back at anyone who makes someone feel uncomfortable regardless of their race. Also please take the time to completely express your view and where you're coming from. Just typing "Did you try another club" will most likely warrant an angry response simply because you may come across as callous. It's not that simple of a solution, and just stating it as so will cause other's to react unfavorably. Your intent may have been sincere and kind, but remember this is the internet, therefore to get your point across clearly you may want to leave a detailed description of your point of view. None of us here have the convience of reading anyone's body language and facial expressions, it may be difficult to interpet your point of view with only ONE sentence to digest. Please keep that in mind beauties.
Lets remain cordial amongst each other, but don't allow petty arguements and egos to distract us from the matter at hand.

Anyhoo.... Next subject
This is a good one. I'm just asking in an open ended since to get a feel on what you ladies feel regarding this matter.
WHY ARE BIG BUTTS SUCH AN IMPORTANT FACTOR FOR US?
WHY ARE SOME OF US SO PRESSED TO HAVE?
HAVE YOU EVER EXPERIENCED DISCRIMINATION SOLELY DUE TO YOUR BIG ASS??lol
I've dealt with my share of booty on the brain. Big ass is everywhere! I've always dealt with either really warm welcomes towards my gigantic ass ( urban) or cool responses ( gown clubs). And when I say big ass, we may have a different definition of big ass. So many people made a big deal out of J-lo's ass... but I was like ,Where is it?I'll show you a picture of my community's version of a fatass.
The ass displayed below along with a tiny waist to match would pay you and your kids way through school.

What is your best kept secret for getting hired at a club that may normally gear towards another crowd not quite what you're used to?
I will change my dancing style, but I noticed that some of the happiest and amused customers are white when I shake my ass in their face. I think that's cute, but I often wonder if the same guys in the club would approach me in the street? Just a random thought, because for every eager happy white man I attract in the club, I don't exactly recieve the same attention OTC.
Hmmmm, is it intimidation? Uncertainty.... not quite sure. I would love to date outside of my race before I die, but the only time white men approach me is in the club. Why, damnit, why? I truly don't get it. Why do white men only approach me in the club? Someone please help me understand.![]()

Of course they'd approach you on the street!!! I think a lot of it is intimidation. So many men love black women but believe the stereotype that black women are aggressive and are fearful of being rejected by us. Sounds ridiculous, but I've heard it many times before. My boyfriend's Italian and his whole crew of friends love us but hardly approach us when we're out.

Well, I think conversations about ethnicity are important, and I'm not gonna butt out and I thank you, Layka, for starting an open one.
Something I would be interested in hearing about is how your experience is different geographically -- I found the most racist customers in the Midwest, and would hear shit because they'd assume as a white girl I'd listen to it (which I won't, and will happily tell a customer spewing racist shit exactly what I think). I mean, it was far worse in Indiana or Ohio than Texas (racists too busy complaining about Latino customers) or Tennessee.
Also, a comment on big butts: It's like big boobs, but ethnic-specific. I think. It's a body part that's been sexualized. But just like big boobs, it's not a necessity. Please tell me if I'm wrong and it's totally impossible to compete if you're petite in the seat.
I may not be able to do a "Black Like Me" stripper experiment by dying my skin, but you know what? I am more than willing to attempt to get hired at Onyx or Harlem Nights or Magic City to see what it's like to swim upstream because of my ethnicity. I have no idea if that's an accurate comparison to a WOC trying to break into a mostly white gown club but hey, someone should try.
Hi Layka
hmm about white guys approaching you on the street...my cousin pointed out to me that when you are an ethnic girl there are 3 types of guys you encounter, racially speaking:
- guys who don't even consider you 'dateable' because of race (this does not automatically make them racist, they just never thought of you that way....doesn't mean they can't be converted, i've done it lol)
- guys who are going to be all over you because they are fetish-y about you race wise and prolly wouldn't care as much about your looks or personality as long as you are *insert race* ( i can usually tell this type from a mile away)
- guys who don't even notice![]()
i have dated ALL different races of guys!
maybe its just a numbers game but, i just realized that the majority of men i have dated were blonds!!! lol my best friend is too..they just won't leave me alone!!! do you have any white friends? that is a good place to start.
i have really varied interests, listen to all types of music, i'm active and outdoorsy, friendly, funny....humble lol...but i appeal to lots of different types of guys because of that i think. i can talk to pretty much anyone.
ps did i mention that i pretty much live in "the deep south" of canada??? i've had some racist shit happen to me but i can literally count it on one hand. there's only so many times you can hear the n word before it just makes you yawn. desperate people grasping at straws is all. i once had a guy say it to me outside a club because he had been trying to hit on me and i turned him down. I STARTED LAUGHING not even a sarcastic laugh, it was actually funny to me!!! and i said
"YOU'RE the broke ass, skinny, rude, junkie whore! (some people i knew told me this) YOU'RE the biggest n*** that I'VE ever met!!!" and i continued laughing my fool ass off...only because i know the bouncers and i could have got his ass beat but instead i had my fun with him.
i guess people can tell by now, i am pretty lighthearted about the whole racial issue. people take everything so seriously these days. if people are a**holes to you, it may or may not be because they are racist, but in either case they are a**holes, period.
ALSO, i was reading somewhere that some white men in the states still have some deep seeded or subconcious guilt over slavery and thats part of the reason why they may feel uncomfortable....? strange but possibly true just thought id throw that out there..
"bitches LOOOOVE smiley faces!!"

im hesitant to post in this thread, so i have been lurking and reading. philly is a very racially integrated city. jayda can elaborate on this one, but our city is approx 43% black, 45% white, 8% latino 4% other. i have seen a lot of racist stuff go down, both in and out of clubs. i have to say, what canadian cutie said about types of guys is true for me, too. i joke around that i'm not a black man's white girl. i happen to live in a very black neighborhood, and am totally the lone white girl on the block. but, leaving for work sat night i had a totally odd experience. a woman walking in front of me (with another guy in front of her, walking down my st) said under her breath but loud enough for he and i to hear, "how you gonna live in this neighborhood round all these niggas? *laugh* " and i was shocked. i repeated it to a neighbor who shook his head and said, "well that's because on ****** street we don't see color." so, i ask, does it bother you black dancers when a white stripper "invades" a black club? (i say invades only because that's what this woman clearly thought i was doing, living here.)
i hope no one takes offense, i tried to phrase this right so that my true feelings were coming across clearly.
oh as for my ass, well, i have definitely had more than one guy tell me that i was built like a sista.
also- will add- because this is in hustle hut sect- a good hustling dancer i know (she's black) says it actually helps her to hit up one type of guys i avoid (white boys in jerseys and long tees, etc) because they get excited that she, a beautiful proud real black woman, is giving them attention and then turn around and give her money. she and i were makign fun of this type the other night when she told me that. i said it actually made sense. this type of guy makes me work for it and doesn't want to spend on me, really, but she says they are good game for her.

Love it!

First off, thank you for this thread. I've recently had to take a month off because I just couldn't deal with the biz anymore. I'm back now, and could really use the support this thread might provide. A few things that bother me, or when white girls tell me I'm a very pretty "Black" Girl. I'm just a girl like every other girl in here. You didn't walk up to that girl and say, "Your a pretty blue eyed girl," or "Your a pretty blond girl," Or your a pretty asian girl." From now on I'm going to tell any guy who says that to me what's wrong with what he just said. (I'll go about it nicely)
I also hate how when you work at white clubs, the black girls who are already there aren't nice to you cause they see you as a threat or something. I understand it, but it's stupid. Think about it, if you were only making money cause you were the only black girl then you are lazy, have no hustle, and don't have much going for yourself.
Guys will come to a club if they have choices, and they will bring there friends. That will help you make more money. Duh!
I have more to say, but I'm tired. If ever any of my sistas are feeling bad about yourself, I want you to read Sheba sings, by Maya Angelo. It was this poem that helped me get back on the stripping horse, and I take it to work with me.
