Many people on this regimen report excess gas. Consider keeping a supply of "Beno," "Gasx," or ther gas relief product on hand while you're on this plan. A few people report feeling light-headed and/or weak.
    Makes about 18 - 1 cup servings
    1 - 46 oz. can V8 juice
1 - 14.5 oz. can of diced tomatoes
6 medium stalks of celery (approx. 1 cup)

it seems fine to me I mean it's just for 7 days. Although the banana day seems a bit weird. Up to 6 bananas? In one day? I like bananas but I've never eaten anywhere close to 6 in one day!

I have made this soup before, but altered it a bit. I actually like it alot. I don't really follow the 7 day eating thing, but it is good to incorperate into your own healthy eating/diet.

OOooo, the cabbage soup diet! I did that one a couple of times... It's hard. The soup is good, otherwise.

Various versions of this diet have been around for Donkeys years. What I'd like to know is..do people actually keep the weight off after being on a soup diet?

Lil, that really cracked me up! That's EXACTLY it! Haha!

Flickad, the first time I did it, I lost five pounds and gained three back. The second time, I lost three and gained them all back.

I'm glad I found this thread. I started it today and the soup is actually pretty good. I do think I went overboard on the tomato juice and tomato. I used vegetable boullion cubes and I probably should have used chicken.

Anyway, I've had like 4 bowls of that soup and half a watermelon so I am not hungry at all .

    I'll keep you posted.

Bananas can contribute to constipation, so that might have been what they were thinking.

This is what I do too. The whole "diet" isn't that great for you and won't set you on the right track for healthy eating. But the soup is alright - bland so it can't taste bad - and filling so it is a good way to get some vitamins from veggies at a low cal point.

Hahaha, this whole crash diet idea seems like someone's prank. Like "let's see if we can get people to eat no bananas, and then only potatos, etc."

Or it was created by eating disordered people who have strange rules for themselves about food. Bananas don't feel "safe" etc.

The reason I wanted to try it is because you can eat as much as you want.I saw Jaime Presely talking about it on Letterman and it's supposed to be kind of a cleanse also. Yesterday I was so full all day but I didn't ingest that many calories.

Today is day 2 . I have to eat the soup and vegetables ONLY and for dinner it's a baked potato and butter.

    Day 3

    Fruits and veggies

I have to say that I like this diet so far. I'm not hungry and I actually feel great. It's weird because I figured a diet like this would seriously clean you out, but even with all this fiber and drinking TONs of water, I'm a little stopped up. I'm really not looking forward to the banana day. I probably willl just have more soup and only one banana.

And the soup is pretty good !

the cabbage soup diet is HARD! you'll get sick of the taste and the SMELL, you'll want to murder everyone in site! i actually had a better time on the "master cleanse", for some reason i wasn't really hungry on it, like i was on the cabbage soup diet. but yeah, i haven't touched cabbage ever since.

whoa, did anyone else notice that on day 5 you get 10-20 ounces of meat?

    A serving is 2-3 ounces.

Typo? Or just a lot of meat?

For starters, I am not drinking while on it, so thats a big help there. Other than the fact that some days have weird food allowances, it's basically just a vegetable and fruit based diet. No harm there. I won't be consuming 20oz of beef in a day ! I might substitute the fish on those days.

This new batch of soup is even yummier than the last one.

Ok I confess. I don't know if it was my hormones or the Ambien, but I drank half a bottle of wine and ate a MESS of chocolate chips and peanut butter....and some oatmeal. It wasn't pretty.

So now do I continue the diet ? I swear I gained 5lbs over night.

I have officially changed my tune on the soup diet. The cravings get you at day five. It was like being possesed. I could not keep myself from the sugar , chocolate and oatmeal left over from the cookies and the thought of eating more soup...

Even though i felt like I lost a little and at first it wasn't too bad, when I did have my little "moment" I feel like I instantly gained 5 lbs.
