Better yet. I'd skip the V8 and get some veggie soup recipes instead

I love vegetables, but HATE V8.

There are other decent vegetable juices, but I just go for raw or cooked vegetables.

    Salads, wraps, soups, etc.

Or get a green vegetable juice....like this one. It's got a fruity flavor.

I've never tried this one, but it might be okay:

V8 makes an amazing soup base/stock.

Ugh. Yeah, I'm vegan and V8 can suck a big fat one. I have no idea why people drink Bloody Marys.

V8 has a shit load of sodium! It isn't all that healthy at all.

Or I get normal V8 and add heaps of tabasco in it

If I didn't have a vegie juice (not necessarily V8 ) I know I wouldnt get enough vegies in my everyday diet as I am no cook and don't feel inspired to cook for one in re vegies more often than not.

Yep, I do that every now and then. It's nice with some added vegies. Just pick afew of your favourites and heat them up with the juice. You could also add some vegetable or chicken stock powder if you like.

    MMMmmm, Smooth and Seasoned V8!

Just how bad is the sodium? What does it do to you?

I love v8 but it's not very good for you... the low sodium ones are mediocre. It IS good with hot sauce and lemon juice, though! I've used it in veggie soups. I chop up the veggies, cook them in a big pot, put in the spices, and then pour in the v8 with a little bit of water.

Jeanette, sodium can make you retain water. I believe it's also bad for your heart.

I advocate the low-sodium kind with a splash of habanero sauce thrown in.

V8 is nasty no matter what you do to it, but the Bolthouse juices are fantastic! Not so salty, and tastes fresh (because, at least comparatively, it is!)Yum!

Jeanette, too much salt can also give you hypertension & high blood pressure.

It's actually not so bad over a giant glass of ice.

^ Ditto. I like the low-sodium V8, it's a great way to get veggie servings on road trips. (BTW what is sodium sensitivity called? I get really sick from too much salt.)

I tend to seek out the "green juice blends" that companies like Odwalla, Bolthouse Farms, and Naked Juice make. They tend to mix veggies with fruits and Spirulina.... As for V8..... I never liked it. Which doesn't surprise me... since I never liked things like Bloody Marys either. But I like the V8 Fusions!
