    Default Saw Zodiac...

I can't wait for a scary movie to come into theatres that is....yanno...good.

This movie wasn't bad. It didn't try to be flashy, or too gory, or cheesy...but then...it didn't really try to be anything. It advertised it looking like a horror or at least thriller. It was...a bit suspenseful. But it was over 2 and a half hours long...and much like a documentary. I could have gotten everything I got about the story by reading for four minutes off google.

But I love me some Jake Gyllenhal at least.

Ilove a good scary movie, not the cheesy predictable kind either. I haven't seen this movie, but it is on my list. Since it is based on a true story, I can see whay it was more suspense than thriller. Another movie coming out I want to see is "Preminition"....ooooh, Julian McMahon!!

I'm begging my friend K. to watch this movie with me & she said, "NO, I lived through it, no thanks." (She was a kid-teen in the SF Bay Area during the time period covered by the film.)

This case is just horrifying. There's nothing glamorous about the Zodiac, he was a sad piece of human trash.

I was hoping that it was better than the other versions.....

I thought this movie looked OK .....I might end up seeing it this weekend, but it's up in the air. I didn't know it was so long though. I wasn't expecting it to be very scary, b/c I heard that they tried to keep it as "real" as possible, based on all police records and interviews.

Haha, no offense taken. But, to my defense, I'm prolly the only 19 year old alive that's seen Gone with the Wind 6 times.

I would reccomend watching it if you expected it to be more documentary like than thriller like. It was interesting at least.

One thing that I did enjoy about the movie was the tiny little details that added things up, some were really hard to catch. Then again there wasn't much distraction, but still, Pooka does like her clues.

I just saw it last night. Not as good as some other David Fincher films, but I thought it was pretty well done. Good cast, too!

I saw it last night - I'm on Pooka's side. Boring. And it's like they realized only when they were wrapping that Zodiac killer story didn't have a resolution, so they'd have to make one up. There was really no place to direct sympathy, empathy or identification - I found it to be like watching an unreasonably long episode of "Unsolved Mysteries".

I'm definitely gonna see it, but for basically two reasons:

    1) David Fincher is the shit and one of my favorite directors (FIGHT CLUB!!!!)

    2) Jake Gyllenhaal is fucking hot.

Not necessarily in that order though.

Yeah...the kind that doesn't have "update!" at the end.

I saw Zodiac yesterday.. and I concur with Pooka's take. They really misrepresented it in the adverts, making it look like some kind of tense thriller like Se7en, and it simply wasn't. It was more just a chronical of the events that went down and the people that were involved in the investigation. That doesn't mean it was a bad movie.. I did like it in fact.. it just wasn't what I was expecting. (That's been happening a lot lately, with the trailers and adverts putting a different spin on what the movie actually is.. Number 23 and The Bridge to Tabithinia come immediately to mind.)

So, yeah, it was a good movie.. interesting to be sure, especially because my mom was living in the area at the time everything happened. I remember her reading whatshisface's book and freaking out a bit. I think they could have shortened it up a bit though. I ran out of soda and munched all the ice away long before the end, and that's when I start getting ancy.
