I wish I had more engergy right now to type something helpful for you, but just to point out something - we all have parts of our bodies we think might need work. But 5'3 and 125 pounds is not an unnacceptable weight situation to be a dancer at all. A little toning never hurt anybody, especially confidence wise, but we don't all look like barbies, don't worry.

Just to point out... im 5'2" and 115lbs....when I first started I was much heavier heh(I wont even admit what I was). Toning comes with time. Dont be scared to go into the club now.

Squats and Lungs help with getting a nice ass... lots of crunches will help with yer tummy.

    My grooming routine...

    SKIN

After I wash my face I use organic anti-wrinkle facial moisturizers with vitamin C and SPF. (Some of my favorites are from Avalon Organics and Desert Essence.) If you want to splurge I highly recommend Murad skincare. I also use Kiss My Face alpha-hydroxy lotion after shower, and Loreal Sublime self-tanner with SPF to keep my skin "tan". I don't smoke or drink and I don't lay out in the sun or in tanning booths. I drink a lot of water. I'm 33 and people say I look 23-25.

    WEIGHT/BODY
I aim to work out 3-4 times a week for about 1 hour with running, pushups, ab exercises, and occasional weight training. I dance about 30 hours a week, and dancing itself will tone you up. My son has me running after him too. Jesus Christ, no wonder I am always so pooped!

What REALLY helped burn off my post-pregnancy weight was Tonalin CLA. This stuff rocks, it is good for you, and it seriously burned off my cellulite. There are many threads on Tonalin on here, just do a search. It burned off a lot of my tummy flab after a month of use I was back in my little skinny jeans. But you need to keep your diet in check and work out too. I've been a vegetarian for half my life, but it's not something I recommend for everyone, since everyone is different. But it works for me.

Your height and weight is really not anything to worry about. You'll tone up the more you dance, and the Tonalin CLA will work wonders too, provided that you work out at least 3 times a week. It's a safe and natural substance, but always check with your doctor before taking new dietary supplements.

You've had two kids back to back cut yourself some slack. Just don't use it as an excuse to keep the weight on... It's hard to eat healthy and keep up with the kids at times, but it is possible. Just don't do the diet pills, you will be very dissapointed in the long run. They can make you moody, and most of the time your just loosing water weight when you take them. Cardio, a good balanced diet, and alcohol free @ work. Lots of water, I can't tell you how much that matters. I mean it's stuff you already know but I think it helps to have someone going through it with you.

Good advice. Yes, I would not recommend diet pills either, not good for you in the long run. The Tonalin though helps you build muscle so that your metabolism changes and you wind up burning fat. I've been taking it as a supplement for almost 2 years and my doctor says it's OK. It's a natural substance, not like hydroxycut ephedra or anything like that. www.tonalin.com. I tell you what it was a miracle worker after I had my kid. Belly fat disappeared and my butt got firmed up again BUT you you do have to watch diet, exercise, drink lots of water, no booze, etc. Just take very good care of yourself. I think stripping has been good for my health overall (plus there is no smoking in the bar where I work-hooray!)

I am 5'4 and weigh 125 and I've got a rockin' body. I wouldn't consider that overweight by any stretch of the imagination. A month or two of dancing will tone up any small amounts of pudge you have going on.

I do work out and take care of my body. I drink lots of water, take hair and skin vitamins, do spinning and swimming and Pilates (although not as much as I should). I try to eat properly, but I don't diet and never will. I wear sunscreen on my face religiously, and even though I tan the rest of my body occasionally I ALWAYS cover my face. That damage doesn't mend no matter what. Avoiding the sun is the best anti-aging thing you can ever do, that and not smoking.

Younger people don't always think of the effects of their habits, but if you want to have a long and prosperous career you have to stay beautiful (well, you don't HAVE to, but it helps). Stay off the hooch and don't do drugs. And the best advice, be happy and you will attract other happy people. Your personality is your best asset in a job like this. It is rarely the most beautiful girl in the club who makes the most money at the end of the night.

Getting a spray tan will help you look slimmer and smoother. Cutting off soda completely really does help, I do that whenever I need to just drop a couple pounds. Get terrible headaches when I do tho.

i agree with the others... your weight should not be a problem whatsoever!

i think if you dance enough, you don't even have to exercise since dancing is such a workout. i used to work 4 days a week and go on stage constantly because sometimes there were only 4 girls, and i got insanely skinny. if i would have exercised, i would have been a twig! if you think about it, dancing is great exercise because it tones your legs BIGTIME, and there's also a lot of squats (when you go down and shake your ass, you ladies know what i mean!) which tones the ass. when i first started dancing and i wasn't working that many days, i would just do crunches for the abs and some aerobics just to burn calories overall and get my heart pumping. i used to work out to tae-bo, i think it rocks and definitely keeps you in shape!

as far as diet goes, i always try to eat a lot of protein (grilled chicken mmmm), carbs in moderation, and lots of fruit and snacks like yogurt which are great to give you energy at work. there is a vitamin i take which is for hair, skin, and nails and it contains "biotin". basically its good for everything!

an older dancer told me this when i was a total newbie. she said that if you want to take care of your skin, remember to wash your makeup off EVERY NIGHT after work, exfoliate, and moisturize. i use this cream called retinol which is like vitamin A or E... it is so great for your complexion. i am guilty of going in tanning beds.. but i haven't tanned in a while and am very pale but with healthy skin. i think tanning helps to even out skin tone and cover up flaws, but is not necessary or good for you. self tanner is a pretty good way to go.

    hope that helped somewhat.

i love threads like this! my regimine changes every once in a while, but here is my current one!

skincare: noxema skin cream in the am/pm, dove soap when bathing/shaving, oil of olay facial moisturizer, vaseline intensive care active firming lotion for my boobs/belly/butt, johnson and johnson's cocoa butter and shea baby lotion everywhere else, palmer's cocoa butter solid in the pm to take makeup off, clean and clear astringent to make sure i'm squeaky clean.

body: i eat fresh foods, and when i can't eat those, i eat low calorie meals (lean cuisine, weight watchers, etc) i DO tan, although many girls see it as a no no. I got 1-2 times a week for 12-15 minutes a time. I look better with a little pigment to my skin. I try to walk 4 miles a week, and work 4 days a week. I don't like water too much, but I drink alot of lipton green tea with citrus, and diet snapple =) i don't drink soda, unless i am sick, then i will drink the occaisional ginger ale.

    ps: yoplait yogurt is wonderful

Everyday I wash my face with Cetaphil and then apply Dan Kern's Benzoyl Peroxide 2.5% (acne.org) mixed with a few drops of pure tea tree oil. This has proven a good remedy for my moderate acne and apparently is similar to ProActiv for a lot less $$. Don't ever use BP 10% on your whole face though, it'll dry your skin out; even the 2.5% dries mine if I ever skip moisturizer. Also use the tea tree oil on razorburn or any other ouchies to help them heal quickly. Anyhoo after that sinks in it's sunscreen, Ocean Potion Anti-Aging is my fav, or regular moisturizer if it's dusk or later, plus some wrinkle cream du jour at night. Also every few days after bathing I use Banana Boat's fair gradual tanner- it's inexpensive, looks good on me and shows up pretty quick.

AH i like threads like this too! I'm 5'7 and used to be around 180, although since my weight sat perfectly on my body everyone thought i was 20lbs lighter... anyways, cardio for an hour 5 days a week is great for the body, and Ashtanga Yoga is fantastic too! If you want to LEAN out muscle definitely do yoga or pilates! As far as the real grooming goes, I use wax to get rid of unwanted hair, since I'm VERY easily prone to ingrown hairs. If you're like me and are easily prone to ingrowns, go for cream or wax. I use Nivea Extra Moisturizing lotion, that stuff rawks! Proactiv for the skin care of course, and I use Dove Exfoliating Beauty Bar. Lots of sleep and lots of water, and NOT SODA is the key to looking your best, vitamins don't hurt either...

    HmmmMMmMMmmM

I'm 5'9" and 130 lbs. I try to exercise 3-5 days per week, doing either elliptical/running/stairclimber in intervals for my cardio, and hard weightlifting for my strength workouts. I supplement with calisthenics and kickboxing and cycling for fun changes.

You want to eat tons of protein and healthy carbs (whole wheat bread, fruit, fibrous cereals), and drink lots of water to keep your belly flat and prevent the body from retaining water.

When I get "done up", I apply full makeup, lots of jewelry, and make my hair really voluminous.

The best facial skin routine I can recommend is, honestly... a washcloth soaked in scalding hot water pressed over your skin and used to lightly exfoliate. No product necessary. Honey or clay masks are great once in a while too! Also, moisturizer with SPF always, and use sunscreen on the rest of your body every time you go outside!

BTW about yoga or pilates... all muscle is "lean muscle", and weight training will build a lot faster and give you more strength. Women can't bulk up very significantly, so don't be afraid to use the weight machines at your gym.

I for one bulk up quite easily, which is why i do NOT favor weight machines. That's just how my genetics work. So to LEAN out my muscle I had to look to yoga. Men however appreciate a more athletic, toned look compared to a rail-thin figure I've found from the duration of dancing. My trainer rocks, she prefers me to work with my own body weight, which teaches you to balance better anyways. Fun fun fun.

I'm 5'8" and weigh 130 lbs. I bust ass for my body! This is what I do right now:

BODY/WEIGHT: I do not drink soda at all...if I do, it's only diet. I drink lots and lots of water throughout the day. I subsitute soymilk/ricemilk for regular wholemilk. I eat lots of fruit and veggies, salads, and space out snacks and meals to keep the metabolism going. I also take a multivitamin daily. I work out every other day (this helps the muscles to build in between workouts). Do lots of squats for butt. Abs- sideways situps, crunches, and leglifts for lower abs. Push- ups for upperbody strength.

SKIN: Wash everytime I'm in the shower and before I go to bed with St. Ives apricot scrub. I use St. Ives Cucumber Eye, Face, and Stress Gel on my face afterwards.

Good luck with putting your routine together!

I dropped about 70 lbs. after I had my daughter, and I did that by cutting down DRASTICALLY on my junk food consumption, walking just about everywhere, doing yoga & Pilates, and adding a cardio DVD for good measure.. I am now a 150 lb. gal @ 5'9".. I'm not thick, but I'm not rail thin, either...

i take a shower/bath in the a.m and first wash my hair with head and shoulders(its more conditioning) then wash that out, condition my hair for 2-3 minutes, rinse. wash body with body wash, rinse, wash face with proactive cleanser. apply body oil all over body, pat dry with a towel. get out of tub, apply palmers shea butter lotion in the jar(super moiturizing!) then apply foot cream, on feet, use astrigent on face, then lotion. apply diaper rash cream on booty(keeps butt in perfect condition for some reason)then apply hand cream. i use a face/body mask 3 times a week and body scrub 3 days a week, mostly ones with oil in it,for the best effect. i sometimes use a acne body wash/scrub on my whole body to exfoliate and keep clear too. i love the asprin mask use it a few times a week. i do hot oil treatments in my hair 3 times a week ,i am hell on my hair as in styling, etc. i brush my teeth 3 times a day and use peroxide on them 2 times a week. i deep cleanse my hair with a vinegar rinse once a week. i go tanning 3 times a week,i know bad but it makes my skin look better. i exercise 20 minutes on my bowflex 3 days a week, and i bench press 50 pounds doing 10 sets of 10. i do about 500 to 1,000 crunches a day,and about 200 lunges daily. i drink a gallon of water daily, and take all sorts of vitamins and try to eat healthy. i do meditaion daily because i stress so easily. and etc...

I was worried about how I looked, but clubs have girls of every shape and size. What really kicked me into shape was dancing. I'm 5'2" and 106lbs. I see it as a great workout routine and I get paid for it. I am also super hygenic. It's always made me more comfortable to get close to the customers when I don't have to worry about how I smell/ feel/ look.

In the shower before work, I was my hair first and put a deep conditioner on and then put my hair up in a bun. I go about my business, shave my whole body (yes, I even shave my arms. I'm a freak about hair), exfoliate my feet, wash my face, comb the conditioner through my hair as I rinse it out. Then I pat off with a towel, while still in the shower I put on baby oil (people say it's bad for your skin but it makes mine smooth as a baby's ass), brush my teeth, mosturize my face, comb out my hair and put in gel. (I generally air dry my hair) Spray myself head to toe with body splash, put on some shorts and a tee shirt, sit around while my hair is drying, maybe paint my toe nails. When my hair is dry I go back in the bathroom and flat iron it while singing along with the radio. I then put on my make up, run to my closet, put on some clothes and go out the door.
