Wow cally that is a beautiful background and a beautiful horse!

Neither of you silly girls look bad, you aren't wearing any make up and you look better then half the women on the street.

Its not so much me that looks bad( well, that to) its the light is soo bright, everything is washed out, the picture is blurry, and Ace doesn't look pretty. He looks bored to death or something.
And that wasn't prestripper days, LOL
It was in August of last year when I went home for a visit!
And cally, She is beautiful, and so are you!!

Both of you and your horses look fantastic.

But let me give you some tips on photographing horses. My horse photos have won awards, and have been published in magazines and in books. The Pinto horse association used one of my photos on the cover of a book, A World of Pinto Horses, and about one third of the photos in the book are mine.

The secret to making your horses look as good in photos as they do in person is this: Get a lower angle. Get the camera down so it is a few inches lower than the withers. For those quarer horse photos where they like to show the horse from the rear, get even a little lower, about halfway down the haunch.

And, if you are doing a shot from the front to feature the face, get way back and use a telephoto lens. If you are close up with a regular lens, the close perspective will make the horse's head look unnaturally large.

Then use the same techniques that you use in a halter class at the horse show to make the horse prick up the ears and look alert and hot. Take lots of pictures and only show the good ones, because there will always be some where the right ear gets pointing back or something like that.

Horses are about the hardest animals to photograph and make look good. The only thing I think harder than a horse is a cow.

Try what I said and post us some more pictures. Your horses are beautiful! (So are you!)

^^ I'd love to try, but my horse live in PA, and I live in vegas. I probably wont see him again until next year.

I will post a very cool picture of my dad's arabian. He is 26 years old!! And he still looks and acts like a 3 year old stallion.

I love horses - cant keep one where I live

Do u girls live where u keep the horses or is it hired land where u keep the horse (sorry if that sounds dumb I am in suburbia)

The background esp in Cally's photo looks amazing.

Our horses are boarded on a farm near where my dad lives. He still has to go there every day and take care of them tho. The owner of the farm feeds and lets them out in the AM, but my dad has to go there every night and put them in and feed them again. There are a lot of trails to ride on near the farm, but my dad likes to take them other places a lot as well.
He has my horse, an arabian, and a retired race horse. He lives in WV right near the race track, and somehow, he gets a lot of free horses that people just dont want anymore, so if he can, he gets them healthy again, and teaches them how to be normal horses, and then finds them homes.
When I was young, we lived on a small farm, we had the horses, a pet goat, who came in the house every day. Goats make AWESOME pets!
a pet cow ( went to buy hay for the horses, and just fell in love with this baby cow, so we took her home and she was our pet) we had ferrets, a bunny rabbit, 5 cats, and 7 dogs. And all dogs lived in the house with us. we lived in a tiny house, with these big ass dogs. A great Pyrenese, an eskimo spitz, a 3 legged beagle, a Lab/german shepard mutt, 2 chow chows, and a poodle. The cats came in when the chow chows were outside, because you cant mix chow's and cats. The chows eat the cats.

So...thats my farm life story. My parents divorced, sold the farm, my dad took the horses, my mom took everything else.

Omg I wish I lived in your house full of animals. Even though I love city life, I'd take a country house with lots of loving animals any day. I bet your house was crazy!
