    Default Update on Portland clubs?

Okay, I'm traveling to Portland, OR this week for the first time in about a year, so I'm looking for opinions on the best clubs these days. Also, I'll be staying right downtown - on Broadway - so any clubs within walking distance would be great.

    Thanks!

Well, first off you need to walk down to Mary's to say hi to me if you're here Friday or Saturday. Otherwise I am in the suburbs. Cabaret and Magic Gardens are also walking distance. Union Jack's isn't too far over the Burnside Bridge and there's always cabs downtown should you need them.

Otherwise, I would ask what constitutes "the best" for you -- hot dancers? Hot dances? Neighborhood joints with a heart of pewter? What's your preference?

What's up Cincyguy!? Definitely check out Mary's, it's on Broadway, just south of Burnside, so that's an easy walk, if you go on a friday or saturday night get a drink at Saucebox across the street for some people watching.

Magic Garden is in China town and probably a 15 - 20 minute walk. I used to like that place, but haven't been for a while. It's a small club and sometimes hard to even see the stage on a friday or saturday night, but I always thought the dancers there were pretty interesting.

And for a cab ride over the river, I'd recommend Union Jacks and then Sassy's.

And if you're feeling ambitious and in the mood - I'm still at Exotica
I'm confused, but the Chewbacca Truffle Shuffle cleared it up. - Emily

    Susan,

Well, hot dancers (such as youself ) are, of course, the first priority, and hot dances would be a welcome addition.

In all the time I stayed in downtown Portland, I've never been to Mary's. For some reason, I got the impression it was not very good. Obviously a wrong impression. Unfortunately, I won't be there Friday or Saturday, so I'll miss you. Been to Cabaret in the past and enjoyed it, but I had heard it really went downhill. Also went to Lush a couple times. Is it still open?

Thanks for the recommendations. Sorry I won't be able to see you, as I've been reading your posts since you were back in my part of the country.

    Your loss, cincyguy.

I would recommend Mary's on the mid shift (4-9) on Tuesday or night (after 9pm) on Wednesday this coming week. It isn't for everyone and some shifts are better than others, but it was the first strip club in the whole damn town and is well worth a visit.

Also, have you sussed out your dining options? There's so many great places to eat in town that you have to take advantage while you're here.

Hey Holiday! Yeah, sounds like I need to check Mary's out. About Saucebox - I always meant to go there when I used to travel to Portland, but just never did.

And while I would definitely be in the mood for a little Holiday , I know I can't get to Exotica this time. BTW, I love your new avatar.

I'll keep you posted as to wherever it is I land, but I'm hoping I'll land downtown @ Carnavale (audition tonite!), which does honest to god lapdances but alas, no boozes. I second Mary's, Cabaret, and Magic! Tell Kami that Ivy Says hi!

Hi, Cincy guy! I run a little juice bar downtown called Carnaval.(330 sw 3rd avenue) When you are done boozing it up at the 21 and over clubs downtown come down to Carnaval. We are open until 4am every night and all of the entertainers perform private shows as well as stage dancing. Welcome to the city of roses.
