    Default Greetings and salutations

Well, I keep reading the forums, and a little message at the top tells me I've never posted and that I should introduce myself, so I am doing that.

And here is my (silly? inspirational?) intro story

So, I've been mostly working soul-sucking corporate technology jobs since finishing college, and I hate it. It's nice when I can work some other sort of job for a while, but the money is never enough to make a living, so I've kept going back to the cube farm.

After moving recently to be with my significant others, I was talking to my new waxer while she gave me a Brazillian, chatting about life. She told me that she also used to be in IT and hated it, so went to beauty school and became a waxer. I seemed to be in much the same boat, doing something the same thing that she had done, that we both hated. And she really encouraged me to find something else that I would rather do.

So, I thought and thought about it, and what I keep coming back to is that I want to be an exotic dancer.

So I'm in that nervous newbie stage. I've done ballet, belly dancing, and yoga for a long time, but my current work schedule has left me little time for these. I've just signed up for some pole-dancing fitness classes and am making myself make the time to get to the gym more often. I want to drop about 10 lbs before I audition. I'm about to start a new 6-month work contract, and hope to do some auditions a bit before that contract ends and hopefully cease my life of being a corporate drone when that ends.

So, hello to everyone! After I've seen how many of my questions can be answered by reading old entries, I shall probably be posting to the newbie forum.

hi there. you will be fine, but realize (as you will read over and over on this site) exotic dancing is not really about the dancing but instead about the sales part of it. if you are good at sales, you can be a good dancer! read up on here, and welcome to SW!

    Love it!

Yeah, me wanting to know more of the dancing is more about my comfort level and nervousness than anything else. I know I'll feel far more comfortable feeling like I "know what I'm doing". In my friends who are strippers, one is a fabulous dancer, another I swear seems to barely be able to walk right in her platforms. They both do pretty well (though the former goes to various competitions and gets to travel more).

    Thanks for the welcome. :-)
