Ok so can you overdose on vitamines?
Each day I am currently taking:
x2 fish oil tablets
x1 female multivitamin tablet
x1 herbal nerve aid tablet
...And i am thinking will all these be working effectively all in my belly at the same time (provided i am still taking them after food and the appropriate times of the day? Anyone know? xoxox

Re: Can you overdoes on Vitamines?
Yes you can and the effects can be serious. Go and speak to a pharmacist and make sure that they don't interact with each other. You could also look up blackmores website - even if the brand u have is not blackmores, they will list the same ones on their site and might provide some info about any interactions.

Re: Can you overdoes on Vitamines?
I know you can take 3-5 grams of fish oil a day. I can't tell you anything more about herbal supplements, but for regular vitamins, you can overdose on the fat soluble vitamins. They are vitamins D, E, A, and K. Since they are fat soluble, your body will store them in your fatty tissue. All the others are water soluble and your body will dump the extra in your urine. Though not toxic per se, excess amounts can still cause stomach upset.

Re: Can you overdoes on Vitamines?
YES ! You absolutely can od on vites & mins just like anything else; even water ! (remember that woman and the radio stunt ? ). TOO much of anything is not good. Be most careful with fat-solubles and HERBALS ! Follow the directions unless a physician tells you otherwise.

Re: Can you overdoes on Vitamines?
Be very careful not to take too much Vitamin B6, it can have serious neurological side-effects. When I say Neurological side effects, I mean specifically that you could lose control of your movement.......this isn't common, as it requires super-doses of B6; however girls in this line of work sometimes take a lot of it, as it provides an energy boost. Like the other girls said, too much of anything can be harmful....hell, if you give a person too much pure oxygen, they can be blinded....just watch out....the amounts that you are taking sound just fine and dandy though, but if you take other meds, be sure to check into possible interactions.
quick ammendment: Just so you know, B vitamins are indeed water soluble, but the body IS capable of storing them elsewhere, that's where B6 can become dangerous, and again, it takes mega-doses to become dangerous.

Re: Can you overdoes on Vitamines?
I spent a week in the hospital and a day in ICU from a vitamin D overdose! I have low blood calcium (hypoparathyroidism) and then all of sudden my calcium levels went through the roof. Also to much vit D will deplete magnesium, which will then deplete potassium. This happened to me, I was a mess!
So yes don't over do the fat soluble vit's!
