Default You know your cat is feeling better when she...

My cat was diagnosed with a upper respiratory infection and after 7 days of pills and eye drops she is...
    climbing the walls (literally)
    attacking the mouse and cursor
    running running running
    swiping at the dog's tail
    licking the dogs' faces
scratching my hand to get me to pet her
    and..
    what does yours do?
Please don't lick me, it tickles..

    Mine:
*climbs inside the recliner and rips apart the stuffing
    *looks hungrily at my degu
*paws my eyes while I'm trying to sleep
*runs, full-force, into my legs for attention
*unrolls most of the toilet paper and leaves it in a heap

-Chases rubber bands all over the house
-Meows all night long for no apparent reason
-Burrows under the covers while I'm sleeping and attacks my feet
    -Tries to bathe me

    ^^Hahahaha!
Mine just wakes me up in the morning to meow me to death. He knows I pretend to sleep so he'll jump on my bed and get in my face meowing still.

My cat is a loaf who is hoarding my new chair I just got. He doesn't do cat nip just the occasional kneading me that tries to turn into humping me. Sometimes he simmers down and actually sleeps on me.

Mine lies on his fat tabby ass and sleeps all day. He is old. I wish he'd frolic like a kitten but he'd rather sleep and cuddle... he's a total lapcat.

Often in the evenings he does get a random burst of energy... he'll go to the litterbox and take a huge crap, cover it up, then take off at top speed thundering around the apartment and making this unearthly howl. Then he'll scratch his scratching post, howl some more, and thunder around the house for another minute, give his bell ball a good whack or two, and then suddenly calm down and walk over to K or me for some cuddling. It's weird, always the exact same routine.

But most of the time he just lies around snoring. He snores more loudly than my grandfather!

Mine attacks me and my family.

He stalks us and then jumps up and grabs hold of your thigh and bites you. The rotten little &$%*. Then he will turn around and push at your hand with his nose wanting you to pet him.

Off the top of my head:

    - Prances around with bottle lids in her mouth
    - Chats with me
    - Lounges on the piano
    - Runs around like a maniac for no apparent reason

Thats funny. A couple of my kids like to run from their turds as well. I thought it was for fear of dingleberrys, maybe fear of own turd is just typical cat behavior.

One I know sits behind me on the couch and plays with my hair and purring while I try to do work, then comes down and starts typing on my laptop for me when I get up to take a call. But I just think she was using me to hide me from the owner.

Wakes me up with her meowing and her "fights" with Puddy -- I swear they both gang up on me have purposefully have those fights to make damn sure I can't sleep and that they MUST be fed!! ARGH

After she is fed, she hides under my bed to rest

Will come out every so often for more food (she gets fed quite frequently during the day due to her illness to help keep her fluids up and weight good as I give her tuna mixed with some water so she is drinking and eating at the same time as such).

Will go back to resting and/or complaining that the other cat (Puddy) is near her etc.

Want to be fed some more

Has a crap anywhere she pleases (well she is ill and he bowel movements are so unpredictable) at whatever time of day ... granted she has really small poo so it isn't a bother to clean up. She pees out on the balcony or if it is raining on the balcony or other not so nice weather she will use the kitty litter.

Tries to run away and hide when I need to give her her cort. tablet (one once a day of a night)

Due to her ill health overall she doesn't really do much.

She sometimes naps in my bedroom near me (the only thing in my bedroom at present is the computer set up as I had to dump my bed and now I use the fold out sofa bed until I can afford a new bed).

Mine will jump up to 3 feet in the air to catch these little pom-pom ball toys I got him.

He tries to climb up doorways with his claws (I have scratch marks on all my doorways - some are 4 ft off the ground).

He will meow in my face & knock my phone off the bed side table if I hit the snooze button & go back to sleep. (This is actually QUITE helpful.)

He sits in between the shower curtain & the shower curtain liner while I shower and bats at water droplets on the liner.

Hides behind a doorway & attacks my legs as I walk by.

Takes naps in the bathroom sink, shoeboxes, the cable box & on top of my kitchen cabinets.

He tries to climb into the freezer every time I open it, but seems less interested in climbing into the fridge.

    Loves & hates my printer.

Cuddles up next to my butt when I sleep. Although one time he fell asleep in between my boyfriend's legs - my boyfriend woke up, looked over & said "There's a pussy between my legs." Priceless.

My kitten likes to bring to bed any toy mice that are in severe need of lengthy murdering. If I'm reading and ignore him he'll fling them at my head.
If I make the grave error of moving my feet even slightly he'll make a huge show of pouncing on them.. like sailing 3 ft in the air to get my foot which is only 2ft away.
When he's done his playing routine he's ready for love. Violently. He'll smush his face hard against mine, stomp all over me and ram his nose up my nostril, purring licking and nipping all at the same time.
Then he curls up cheek to cheek with me and falls asleep. This whole process happens at the very least twice a night.

I love cats so much - this thread had me laughing out loud at some parts. I was in a crappy mood earlier but now I'm feeling much better.

I have two Siamese cats, Pogo (6 yrs - the fat darker one) and Siren (7 yrs - the lighter blue point in front):

They have such unique personalities. Pogo tends to lay around a lot, but when he gets going, he actually throws his toys in the air with his paws and catches them in his mouth! It works better if he bounces the toy off of a wall or doorframe. He also has that "post-pooping euphoria" y'all talked about. LOL - It's the cutest thing when he takes off running, except he doesn't know how to cover his turds. The smell is overwhelming and I have to make my fiance do it with the scooper if I'm in the same vicinity. Poor guy gets his feet bitten and scratched at by Pogo when he's sleeping because Pogo likes to hide under the bed.

Siren is the insane one. She likes to start fights with Pogo by sticking her nose up his ass or biting his tail. Then she bites his neck and pins him to the floor and they take off together down the hall and all around the living room like a pack of wild antelopes or something. She also never shuts up. And she spins around and around while screaming. That's the curse of having a Siamese. They are so damn noisy!! Most people ask me if she's in heat when they come over but she was spayed long ago. I just tell them she's inbred, and obviously very upset about it. lol

Oh my God! i thought my cat was the only one who did that! It's fucking annoying. Why the fuck is she trying to climb up doorways of all things?! lol.

When Kitty was finally gaining weight and feeling better:

*she cleaned herself right by our faces while we were sleeping.
*she loves fighting our hands. At the time, she was about the size of our hand so we imagined it must seem like the fight of her life! She's not much bigger now but she can inflict alot more damage.
*she gets the midnight crazies, running around, jumping off things, knocking over anything she can, screaming, fighting invisible things in the air and on the walls, and pouncing on anything that dare move.
*Just being a silly kitty!! lol.

My cat gets all comfy next to me, then starts purring, then soon after she's kneading my neck and biting my ear lobe. When she gets into these moods, I have to lock her in the garage. If I just close the doors, she will sit outside the door and cry all night. The last time she did this, I kept waking her up from her cat naps all day. No way was I going to let her sleep while she kept me up all night!

Toones likes to stalk and harass grey girl most nights. When we get up in the morning, grey girl is usually cowering up on top of the fridge with Toones sitting in front of the fridge all calm just looking up at grey girl.

Alexxa do you think Siamese cats are extra crazy? My mom has a Siamese and he's nuts. Always biting us, won't let anyone pet him for long periods of time but every so often he'll cuddle up in your lap and drool on you. I swear his personality is like jekyl and hyde.

I don't know what the deal is with them. At the time I got Siren from the breeder (about 7 years ago) I really didn't know that much about Siamese, but I knew I wanted a kitten. The woman asked if I knew anything about that particular breed and I said I didn't. She kind of gave me this "Oh boy, you're in for it." sort of look and sold her to me anyway.
What I have read and experienced about them is that they are far more social than other cats. They require a large amount of human attention and will become hostile and mean if they feel neglected. You'll hear of some really nasty Siamese cats that will tear your face off for no reason. That is usually because the human caretaker doesn't know that the cat needs to be close and cuddly with you and that they can't be alone for long periods of time. When they scream endlessly, I think they are really trying to communicate with us. I think a lot of that "craziness" has to do with inbreeding and possibly a more evolved connection to humans. I could be wrong, but that's just my hypothesis.

I do know that Pogo and Siren are very cuddly and sweet because I baby them and pay a lot of attention to them (I talk to them and let them sleep with me in the bed), although Siren definitely has a more mean streak in her that she is capable of. It has diminished greatly as she has gotten older.

However, some cats are just plain nuts.

I don't know but it cracks me up.

My fat old tabby has spent the past hour sitting in the bathroom staring at his litterbox. Not using it, not saying anything, just sitting there staring at it. He weirds me out sometimes.
