    Default Pre BA jitters?

So I have 16 days left before my operation and I feel like I'm emotionally off whack. Every little thing I have to do before the surgery is amplified and is making me stressed/cry at the drop of a hat. I also feel guilty about spending so much on myself (hey, but I deserve it and have always been the helper, and not the helped). I'm hoping my hormones are just out of whack due to the big day being soon. I don't feel like myself at all.

Well you are getting your chest cut open. When I had surgery on my jaw, I was so happy because I knew my bite would look so much better I didn't have time to be stressed about it - I was too happy. Make sure you want this...

I have thought it over so much/for so long I'm 100 percent certain this is a positive change in my life, and deep down I know that, having the jitters made me doubt it, for about half a second lol.

my advice: don't get obsessed with the boobie forums. Those ladies will scare the crap out of you because the majority of people on there are looking for support. The women who went through their surgeries and are happy with the results aren't really on there.

I've browsed MakeMeHeal.com's fourms. There does seem to be a lot of posters with problems like bottoming out, CC, etc.

I would say it's definitely quite normal to be "jittery" or worried before any kind of surgical procedure! I haven't had a BA, but have had septoplasty, and for weeks leading up to it, I imagined every ridiculous worst-case scenario and worried myself to death over it ("what if he screws up so badly that i come out without a nose and looking like the phantom of the opera, and what if no one can repair it and I have to spend the rest of my life with half of a deformed smushed-up nose? aaaaaack!")...but once it was over, I just felt RELIEF. I had been worried over nothing, and now it was done and I could breathe normally again!

If you get too jittery or worried, try shifting your focus from "omg what could go wrong?" to thinking of the benefits of having the surgery and how much better you'll feel afterward. best of luck!

If you want a serious distraction, make a list of ALL the chores & errands you can't do while recuperating, and get them out of the way. & Cook you favorite meals & freeze them so you can have what you want when you want it. (People get tired of playing nursemaid really quickly, you might as well make sure you have what you need, when you'll need it.)

Clean the house too, it can only make you feel better, recuperating in a squeaky clean place.

I know I'll be going through these same jitters soon myself. I was thinking that shopping for hot lacy bras would be a fun way to distract yourself. Think of how awesome it will be to toss out all those water and padded bras and get some of the sexy, frilly ones in your new size.

^Madmaxine's idea is excellent as well. Probably more of a necessity really.

I also suggest staying off the boobie forums. I spent way too much time on them before and after my BA, and i think they're mostly a waste of time and make you worry unnecessarily.

agreed on the breast implant forums. Statistically speaking 98% of breast augmentations come out without problems. Of the 2% that do develop complications, 90% are 'fixable'. I've had something like seven different breast surgeries, with ONE complication (a new custom made 2500cc implant started leaking about a week after it was put in ... easy fix as soon as the replacement implant arrived).

If you're talking about 'catalog' sized implants, your biggest worry about a breast augmentation is not going big enough the first time around !!!

Don't worry about the surgery. You won't know it's even happening, you'll sleep right through it. ;-) I got my implants done over the muscle. The skin was already a bit stretched out due to previous weight gain/loss. I never took anything stronger than Tylenol after the surgery, and the very next day after surgery, my friend and I were hanging out at Skybar in Hollywood. :-D I went with my sweats on since my chest was obviously swollen and no makeup, and everyone there treated me like a VIP! People all thought I must be a celebrity going around post-op "undercover", they just couldn't figure out who I was and didn't want to embarrass themselves by asking. I had a blast!!

There are many stereotypes about the industry that I work in. Sometimes they can be true but human beings are very diverse creatures and cannot be pigeon-holed into one category.

Some of the most effortlessly beautiful, kind, intelligent, successful, motivated, driven and ridiculously hilarious women that I have ever met have been dancers. I've met the best friends that I've ever had in this industry.
