    Default Mayo VS Miracle Whip

Ok, so I ran out of Miracle Whip the other day and had to go to the corner store and pick up a replacement. They were all out, so I had to buy Mayo. I've noticed in my lifetime that younger people prefer the tangy zip of Miracle Whip, whereas older folks prefer Mayo.

So which dressing would you rather have on your sandwich??

I always thought Miracle Whip WAS mayonnaise. I feel so ignorant. What's the difference, exactly?

Mustard. I HATE mayo and I HATE Miracle Whip.

Loves me some mustard though, especially the spicy brown kind with the seeds in it.

Yup. Light Mayo is gooodd. Miracle Whip is too...sweet. I like it, and don't mind eating it but that's what I have stocked in the fridge. It's kind of like Pepsi and Coke. LOVE coke, Pepsi is too sweet, but when in desperate times I will drink a Pepsi.

Mayo! I can eat Miracle Whip if I have to, but I'd prefer mayo. MW is pretty good in a macaroni salad or something, though.

I hate Miracle Whip, but liked it at some point in my youth. For a while, I refused mayo as well, and only put on mustard. Now, I try to avoid may because its pure lard, but will use it occasionally. As a child, I couldn't stand mustard, and now I love it. Funny how tastes change......

Oh. My. God. There is nothing better than the creamy deliciousness of original Best Foods mayonnaise. I buy no other kind. No lite for me, no "miracle whip", nothing but the holy grail of condiments will suffice.

Mmmm... ahh. What pleasure it is to lick the knife which has just spread the Sauce of Life on a slice of hearty bread...

You can tell I like mayo! :3

Sour cream is good too. And hot sauce...

I guess it depends on what I'm putting it on.

Most of the time if it's just a sandwich, I opt out of the fatty stuff and use mustard.

Depends on what I'm making. For sandwhiches, if there's cheese involved, it has to be mayo. If its just lunchmeat, I can go either way.

For my potato salad, Miracle Whip all the way (mustard too of course). For my tuna salad, its usually Miracle Whip, but I can do Mayo if I have guests.

All salads are Miracle Whip (pasta, macaroni, etc. ) with the exception of my Krab salad. Krab salad HAS to made with Hellman's Mayo And deviled eggs are Miracle Whip all the way, but I can & have done mayo, when I tried this cool cheez whiz deviled eggs recipe (Kraft Mayo).

CK, one of my friends who lives outside Cincy has this whole theory about how the town's culture is boring because most of the residents have infantile tastes, exemplified by the overly sweet local foods -- Skyline Chili is really sweet, the pizza sauce on La Rosa pizza is sugary, that local ice cream, etc etc. And now you tell me there's Miracle Whip in the CK house! Yet more sugar.
    Oh well.

I personally prefer mom's homemade mayo. yum!

Oh, but with mayo, it's much more than "just" a sandwich. Much more...

I used to like only Mayo, and found Miracle whip too sweet. But after meeting my husband I switched to Miracle Whip because it's what he likes, and he never had mayo. So now, I would say, life wouldn't be the same without some delicious Miracle Whip on my tuna and club sandwiches.
