    Default waxing aftercare

i just had my first waxing experience ever with my underarms and i wasnt really given aftercare instructions - is there anything special i should do or avoid doing?

i LOVE the results and i cant wait to go back and get a brazillian.
i may be done with shaving forever.

I'm not sure about underarms, but I do get a braziliian, and I've always been told that exfoliating is key to preventing ingrown hairs. I use Tend Skin occasionally, but mostly, I use those exfoliating gloves that you can get just about anywhere. I just them in the shower everyday to help get rid of dead skin that would contribute to ingrowns.

Just my opinion...I'm sure you'll get lots of great opinions here!

I went to a new spa to get my brows done for an impromtu family event, and they put some type of lotion on, and it made my face freak out!!! I've got a yucky rash all around them

So, be careful what you use, or what they use! I dunno what it was, some type of soothing thing

And it's itchy!!! I took benedryl everyday since (5 days ago). Today i didn't take it, and it's just a tiny bit itchy. But the rash is almost gone.

For underarms, no aftercare. If you wax for a long time (or eventually invest in laser removal of the hair) then when it grows back it will barely look like you have anything there. I totally love this about waxing. I would never have gotten the same result from shaving I can tell you that!

I can literally walk around with hairy under-arms for ages because all it looks like for me at full grown length is a shaving shadow! Woohoo!

For brazillians I pluck as well as do the exfloitating thing

Oh but with waxing underarms, aren't you supposed to avoid putting on deoderant right afterwards, and avoid soap for 24 hours? Otherwise it makes your underarms go yellowish. That's what my beauty therapist told me.

^^ It stings for a bit if I add deodarant (spray or roll on) yet NEVER yellow-ish.... I've been waxing since I was 12 and it has NEVER happened to me. I get spotty because the hair has JUST been pulled out of the root yet that goes away rather quickly these days (in hours).
