I was not offended. It takes alot more than that to offend me and I didn't perceive your intentions that way anyway. I just got the impression you were missing the point

To clarify, I thought from your very first statement you were saying, "If you don't decide to strip and then just do it no matter what, they you shouldn't be a stripper at all," which I disagreed with and wanted to know why you would say that. Then you clarified that you didn't mean that, but rather meant something more like "If the only reason you're just not doing it right now is because you're too nervous or afraid, then you shouldn't be stripper at all," which I agree with on the whole. Then I was just off on tangents about other things you said, which were unimportant to your main point but seemed interesting. (However, while I think it's interesting to talk about whether say a secretarial job can ruin someone's life, it's not really related to the initial point, so I should probably discuss it in an off-topic community if I feel so led.) :-)

Congrats on the audition, and sorry it didn't go so well but really it's better in the end! I've auditioned/worked at clubs like that- where all they have are the 'cookie-cutter' dancers.. and frankly, it's my opinion that those clubs don't do as well as a club that at least offers a little variety. (I DID however work at a club for 2 weeks with one dancer who HAD to weigh 250lbs @ 5footnothing. *yuck*) So I always scope out a club first by going in, chatting up a dancer or two, and trying to see the variety they have. I've been one of the thinnest in a club, and the thickest- and I'll tell you what, I never felt that comfortable being surrounded by 35 barbies anyway. hehe

Well.. anyway- good luck finding the club that's the perfect fit.

I don't care who finally did it after months of thinking and planning, and is now a stripper. Simple fact that you finally did it does not mean you SHOULD be stripping. There are TONS of girls in this business who simply should NOT be. They are usually the ones who always feel abused and shitty after work, or simply hate the job - and often the ones who wind up strung out and fucked up six ways from sunday, because they couldn't handle it.

Please girls. This is not the fantasy job yall want to think it is.
In my case that isn't true. I dragged my feet for months (almost a year) before I took the plunge. I must have read every post on The Exotic Dancer Forum at least twice before I finally did it.

And now I'm a poster child for the "Proud to be a Stripper" club!

Promote yourself and earn more money! This is a business that is owned by strippers for strippers. Let's make that money!

I think it depends greatly on why you needed time to work up nerve. Like, if fear of being discovered.... that I understand.

But mostly, if you're gonna do it, jump right in.

I think there are a lot of newbies on this board who shouldn't dance, and the only reason they ever do is b/c of encouragement, nice SWers, and reading about how WE bank, and they think they can.

^^^Yeah! Don't be too harsh on newbies, don't you remember your first audition.

Dancing for a manager who is criticizing you from an educated standpoint is a LOT harder than dancing for guys.

Hell, dancing for a room full of strippers is a hell of a lot fucking harder than the busiest night at the club.

The guys WANT to accept you, so take it for what it is.

Stripping isnt for everyone even the most fit sexy girls with confadence(sp) cant always handle it. Theres alot people dont understand if theyve never done it before its not just lookin pretty and gettn naked.maybe youll find soing s to make you happy but dont loose your confidance(sp) over one bad audition.
