    Default layers

Okay it's been awhile since I've gotten my hair cut. I've always gotten it layered with the razor. However, it's grown out and now it's almost like my hair is two different lengths. The top layer comes down to about my chin, and the longer layer goes down to about my shoulders. Does anyone have any suggestions on how or what to say to my stylist on how to even it out?? How to get rid of the layered look?? BUT without citting my hair up to my chin.

taper the front of the longer layer towards your face. sort of like, layers again, but tiny ones.

The only way to get rid of layers is to chop 'em off. Most people will come in for regular trims and basically, we'll just take a little of the bottom and a tiny bit off the ends of the layers (to remove and prevent split ends) until everything becomes even-steven. This is the only way you'll ever get a blunt, one length style.

Pictures are a great way to communicate with stylists. Find examples of what you want and bring them with you to the salon. A good stylist will be able to collaborate with you in order to eventually get you to what you want.

I think layers are waaayyyy better than all one length... but I guess it depends on the person. Have her layer (or razor) the space in between the short and long layer so that it "flows".

Me too Bella, I like how your hair can look awesome with minimal styling with layers.

I have had layers for 10 years. Right now I have 2 different lengths like the OP, but my hair still gets compliments.
