On that note im running to McDonalds
Come on you know the life of a dancer on the road is eating out![]()
LOL....chicken and broccoli....can't be that bad....or can it?

(2,061 calories, 128g fat, 109g net carbs, 13g fiber)
This is why I'm so scared to eat out. Even thing you think might be healthy are calorie bombs.

just when i thought the streets were finally safe... lol

I'm on the road a lot and I used to stop at fast food places. NOT ANYMORE!!!! Carrot sticks and peanut butter for me.
I'd hate to see the calorie count in my homemade lasagne! (sp)
I like to try and eat at an actual resteraunt when I can but there are times when all you can get is fast food. Sadly not all dancer housing has a kitchen that you can cook in. Bleh..
You cant live off carrot sticks and celery for a week doing 22 18 minute shows... it sucks![]()

stop by a deli instead of mcdonalds! =)
if you know you're going to eat at a fast food place, just check out the menu online before you go in....or just know your safe choices at popular places.
Uh...on a serious note though, some people need extra calories. For someone who doesn't eat 3 square meals a day, the calories from Mickey D's food (empty or not) are badly needed.

Remember that restaurant portions are huge. Don't eat it all. Take home leftovers for later. Get salad dressing on the side. There are ways of making smart choices in restaurants.

Horrible - I would never think that those would have that many cals.
Either way I dont eat meat anymore so I am not worried about any of those, but STILL!!!!
I agree with Emily, checking online nutritional guides is really helpful because it's surprising sometimes how things you think are healthier options aren't.
cally, I have a few suggestions for you for eating on the road you could try the south beach diet kits. THey are like lunchables but they are good for you and you don't have to heat them up. I don't know how much stuff you like carry with you but you could also pack a can of almonds and some 100 cal paks (not good nuteriant wise but a good snack) You look great and don't have to diet but those are just things you could do to protect your health.![]()
I love on almonds lol... and those lunchables... lol... I just like finding excuses for eating my McDonalds french fries![]()

I was reading Muscle and Fitness just now and it said that most pasta dishes have about 1/2 cup of butter in them. A whole stick for a bowl of pasta, no thanks.

Yeah, sometimes salads at restaurants are so heavy in calories, fat, and carbs that you're better off eating a burger and fries! I used to order salads all the time when I went out to eat, being proud of myself for eating healthy. Then I looked on the nutrition information and just about had a heart attack! LOL Now I usually check the nutrition information before I go out to eat because I hate sabotaging all of my hard work by eating one unhealthy meal.
^Your not crazy. I haven't had McD's in forever but I can totally taste the trans-fat difference in doritos. They aren't quite as good any more.
I gotta disagree with the inclusion of P.F. Chang's here--sorta. I love P.F. Chang's for two reasons--you can get their great 5-spice tofu in place of meat in any of their dishes and also because the portions are HUGE. I always divide my entree in half--eat one there and the other one later. A thousand calories for dinner is bad, but 500 for dinner and 500 for lunch the next day is just fine!

Also, the bulk of the calories in a salad are in the dressing. Just use less dressing if you're so concerned about calories. And if a salad includes nuts, cheese, bacon, and/or deep-fried meat, don't be surprised to learn that it contains more than 300 calories and 6 grams of fat! Really. It's just common sense, people.
Same with the chinese food. If you've ever picked up a Chinese cookbook, you know that practically ALL Chinese sauces contain soy sauce, sugar, sweet rice wine or rice wine vinegar, cornstarch, and oil--none of which are fantastic for hard-core dieters. They act as though PF Chang's is destroying a dish that would normally be low-cal. It's stupid.
Finally, unless you're on a very low-calorie diet, I don't see what the big deal is about eating a well-balanced meal that contains 1,000 calories.
