Default very first expensive item you ever bought

I know before I became a dancer, and before I had all that extra money in my pocket, I was afraid to spend my money. As soon as I had the money to spend I bought a 2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder. What is the first expensive thing you bought after becoming a stripper??

I don't remember making any huge purchases, but I remember writing a $2000 check to my credit card balance. That felt terrific. Wish I could do it again.

Okay, this was a long time ago, but it was really exciting back then.

My first large purchase after becoming a stripper was a brand new washer and dryer!

My first expensive item was a 1999 Mitsu Eclipse, but I wasn't dancing then. When I started dancing, I upgraded my VW Cabrio (which I got after the Eclipse) to a Lexus RX300. And I booked a trip to Austria.

The first pricey item I ever bought myself was a one of a kind Besty Johnson dress.

I paid cash for a house and got a degree.

Now I'm too obsessive about saving to spend money. :-(

I bought a used car with the cash I earned in my first week dancing. One week! I'd been on the bus or bike for six months before that, and unable to save enough for even a down payment of a piece of shit used car.

Okay, the used car was crappy, but it was mechanically sound and ran for the next couple of years. I donated it to charity, and it is probably still running today (it went to a needy family trying to get through college and raise kids).

I bought a used car. I was just thinking about this yesterday...I felt so proud of myself, being able to pay for something without begging anyone for help.

To be honest, I've only really bought one expensive thing after I started dancing.... I bought a $200 bikini about 2 years ago. That's it. Before stripping? A car ($3500 used), and college (three times). That's it.

My Louis Vuitton bag and Chanel wallet... and a bunch of designer clothes. I bought them all at the same time. Neiman Marcus got thousands and thousands of my dollars before I finally learned how to control myself.

My baby... a 2001 Ducati Monster 750 in great condition after 2 months of dancing. i'd been trying to save for it, unsuccessfully, for the past year before that working at GNC. other than that, no big purchases. try to be frugal... spending money is only really on "investments.." not expenses.

^I've been on a mission to get my license this summer. I'm thinking about just renting instead of buying one b/c I don't want to pay for insurance and all that on a reg. basis.

I do and only recently had to throw it away due a bed bug infestation...damnit! That was one item that was well worth every penny I spent -- A Queen size bed ensemble: mattress and base. I paid over a grand for it.

It was my treat to myself after doing so well after my first Indy.

hrm i don't think many places rent bikes other than for a week for vacations... and those are usually just harleys and such. honestly good used starter bikes can be had for 2500 ish... and if you take the motorcycle safety foundation ("MSF") course, it'll not only get you your license right away (15 hr course, 5 hrs of classroom learning time, safety stuff, videos, basic bike knowledge, 10 hrs ON smaller bikes, working through the gears, stopping/starting, clutch/throttle control, parking, braking, etc... and then a test at the end where you usually get your license right there... plus 10% off insurance!) look at it this way... after MSF course, insurance per month on a bike (the Duc is a bit more... grrr) should only be 60 max... which is TOTALLY worth it seeing as though you'll be saving at least 100, if not 150+ per month on gas $$ from not driving a car around as much!!!! plus chicks on bikes are just HOT. ride that to your club with some luggage for your dance stuff, walk in with a helmet, and see how many customers you get right away. feel free to pm me... the local so-cal sportbike community rocks- totally awesome & really diverse people.

I furnished my house...in really nice furniture, living room and bedroom...with cash ...it felt good. And paid off a lot of debt.
People always ask me, did I ever learn anything when I was a stripper? Yeah, I did. One man plus two beers equals 20 dollars.
