    Burnout and weekly goals

I think I may have hit burnout phase...working the same amount of shifts but with longer hours. And a lot more dancing, both stage time and LDs.

The thing is, how do you keep yourself motivated when you are surpassing your weekly goals? My hustle has been way off because I just can't hustle "hard" for as many hours without getting exhausted. Our club average is way up right now and I shoud be taking advantage of it, but my motivation is way down once I get into the club and start working.

How do you stop from getting too complacent about money? I should note that I have been doing better than ever, and this past week was my best, but my hourly was down about $25-30 on Friday and Saturday...and on Sunday I was beyond exhausted, I was in bed practically all day.

Goals should be challenging. If your surpassing them consistantly, first of all, congradulations. Second of all. Set higher goals.
First of al, if you've been doing so well, and are getting burned out, you deserve a reward. Take a week off if you can, or just take a day off and dedicate it all to yourself. get a mani, pedi, drink wine in the tub. Just do whatever you want to feel refreshed and relaxed.

After you've refreshed yourself, reevaluate your goals, and set hgiher ones. Increase how much you save, from say, 20% to 30%.
Start a "me" fund. Decide that yoru goal for the me fund is $2000. When you hit that savings goal, do something for yourself with that money, if its taking a vacation, buying yourself something outrageous.

If the longer hours are what is burning out out, try working say, 3 long days, and 1 short day.

Your burn out is causing you exaustion, which is causing your money to go down. SO take some time out. If your tired, you cant make money. Take a break. It sounds like you deserve it.

I found that long shifts take their toll on me. I can go about 6 hours before I crash.

Anyway, I often pass my weekly goals and if I have a really good night early in the week, then I find myself taking it easy afterwards, but I try to psych myself up with other goals.

Like last week. Monday I was in the VIP literally all night. Tuesday was pretty good too. I made my weekly goal in those two nights. I rewarded myself with taking Wednesday off. Then Thursday, my ex-boyfriend who I haven't seen in years came in. I spent 2 hours talking to him which is not like me, but whatever. Then Friday and Saturday it was GAME ON. I still had a very good week and decided to focus on nightly goals instead of weekly goals on those last two nights.

    Old thread...

But this is a common problem. Personally, I dance so that I can afford to work less and play more. If I'm satisfied with my income and have hit my weekly goals, I'll just take some extra time off to enjoy the fruits of my labor.
