Default why so up and so down... arrgh

I've been focusing and have definitely improved as a hustler over the past several months. I can now make more than 2x my rent in a single shift more than once a week. Amazing! However, about once a week or so it seems the stripper gods are against me and I limp out of there with ~40 dollars (well, depending if I just get out of paying my stage fee). It's not *always* just me... on many of those awful nights other girls have awful nights too and on those nights when I'm on fire, it's often while other girls just can't bank. I wonder how I can change things. Realistically I know it's 10% the club and 90% me and I need to just go in there often enough that it all balances out (which I understand... those shitty nights and amazing ones are equally likely to be a Monday or Thursday)... but it is one of those crazy variables with this job that I find confusing sometimes.

I agree and it can stress you out if you let it. It's constantly up and down, no way to tell. One of the curses and perks of the job.

Wow, I wish I could do that. Of course, 2x my rent is $2700. You?

I have noticed that Jan/Feb have been just oh so quiet, and every time I want to bitch about my bad night at work (at the DII; Mary's is as always consistent) there's girls who have made $40 or just paid house.

On those shitty nights it's important not to say "fuck it" too early and not to become self-defeating because you start to (and act like you) expect "no." There will always be shitty nights, but there's no reason to leave with $40 unless the customer count was under 10 or something crazy. That is when you pull out the serious attitude adjustment techniques.

And don't focus so much on the nightly but weekly/monthly take. Overall you're still way ahead.

Well, when you're a poor postgrad with a roommate, your living situation is not the poshest in the world, so that's something!

I know it's important to say fuck it, but it can be hard to get through those long periods when it's 40 minutes to your next set and you've already talked to every unoccupied guy i nthe club and they're all taken. So i have a problem with that... I normally try to resolve it with maybe a spin with the megatouch (so bad, i know) or bring a book with me. But it's often hard to get that resolve to get through the quiet to new opportunities.

a, you can't be that poor unless you only work once a week.

I don't know what to tell you -- knit? Put movies on your iPod? It's times like that you wish you could leave for a coffee or a snack while it's dead. Or that we had treadmills and TVs in the dressing room.

This is probably deserving of its own topic -- how to take that downtime and not let it drive you crazy. I've worked at clubs where you had to arrive by a certain time knowing already that you would be doing nothing for hours before the crowd actually arrived, so I'm good at amusing myself and having something productive to do so I don't feel like my time is wasted.
