The Gold Coast has its first NRL team. It used to have an AFL team yet that team eventually moved up to Brisbane and is now known as the Brisbane Lions (formerly known as The Bears and played at a stadium "down the road").

Any of the matches held at "Carrara" is the stadium that is "down the road" from Surfers Paradise as such until its own stadium is built in Robina.
None the less, this is something new I would not have really dealt with locally. I work Monday and Wednesday nights and will be working March 26th when they have the match at Carrara.
I'm just wondering, is this a good thing or will this just bring out alot more drinkers/lookers ?? What has been everyone's experiences with the local "football" team be it US Gridiron, AFL (Aussie Rules) and so forth ?
