haveing a small amount is good for you but i recommend measuring with a tablespoon and sticking to one tablespoon.
Also choose a natural peanut butter (only peanuts) you will be getting some healthy fats and no hydrogenized oils.
Natural peanut butter is very good for you. It's high in fat but it's the good kind of fat. I LOVE a toasted whole-wheat English muffin with peanut butter after a workout... add a banana and a glass of cold skim milk and it feels like a delicious junky kid treat even though it's healthy!
I love this too..peanut butter on a cinnamon raisin english muffin! Yummy protein!
People always ask me, did I ever learn anything when I was a stripper? Yeah, I did. One man plus two beers equals 20 dollars.

yeah, the natural peanut butter is quite healthful. if you want something even better try almond butter...mmm
^^^ Almond butter is the SHIZZ!![]()
random peanut butter advice......
if you buy natural peanut butter, store it upside-down....that way all of the oil collects at the bottoml; just flip it, open, enjoy! This way you lose some extra fat, and you don't need to stir it up!

I'm sure natural peanut butter is healthy for you, but how is the taste?
It tastes like peanut butter. I haven't had the other kind in years but I didn't like it; I remember it tasted like chemicals. Natural peanut butter just tastes like creamy-chunky peanutty goodness.

i eat reduced fat peanut butter anyway.. i guess i could try the natural kind.
Pairing Whole grain bread with peanut butter helps you absorb more vitamin E. I found this link that tells you what foods to pair together to make a meal more healthy it is pretty cool:

Also I think natural peanut butter tastes the same as the crappy fake stuff.
He said “make me a sandwich” so I made him a sub.
i think "anything" in small size is fine.. in only get stomach upsets when i eat a large portion of something thats not so good for me.. of course if you use natural peanut butters (jiff and skippy types used to have not sure if they do now.. hydrogenated oils.. like a swirl of crisco in them to make them creamy ..and the 1/2 the fat brands use fillers ..also peanuts are famous for fungus so i always feel best using the natural ones.. like spend the money and get a good holistic type brand .. if you are just using a little its worth the money because it lasts forever.. and there's always the almond, cashew or macadamia nut butters...... ) and the english muffin the sprouted ezeckial brand has english muffin versions.. so a whole grain muffin.. but even if just white bread muffin and good ole skippy . . if its just one its much better than alot of other things..
i think we've come so far..its great.. in the past we'd be saying is it ok for one bowl of fruit loops..now the english muffin/peanut butter that used to be considered "mega health food" is being questioned.. food should be questioned.. its what makes us tick and you are swallowing this stuff.. you want it to be clean and worth eating
I love the smucklers natural pb. After switching to that kind I hate regular pb. Non natural pb's taste too sugary for me.
Ever since my sister in law refered to Jiff and Skippy as peanut flavored Crisco and I realized that is exactly what it feels/tasted like I only eat natural!

I love Jiffy PB! But like anything else, as long as it is enjoyed in moderation, your fine!

you know what's really good?
This Smart Balance Omega Peanut Butter:
http://www.smartbalance.com/omega3.html
No partially hydrogenated oils, just a little molasses as a sweetener, and the texture is good--the oil doesn't separate out the way it does in Natural peanut butters.
I just discovered this and I like it a lot--put it on a rice cake with a little bit of creamed honey. Yum.
Oh, and to answer the OP's question:
Peanut butter is "bad for you" in the sense that it's high in fat and calories. Peanuts can also harbor some sort of carcinogenic mold, I think, which kind of makes you not want to eat PB for every meal. Also, the regular store brands are loaded with partially hydrogenated oils (the source of trans-fatty acids, which one scientist has called "a toxic substance that does not belong in food") and nasty sweeteners like high-fructose corn syrup.
But peanut butter is "good for you" in the sense that, if you get the natural kind (where the ingredients are just peanuts & salt), the nut oils are supposedly healthful, and peanuts are high in protein.
(Peanuts aren't really a nut, though. I forget what they are.)

I only like peanut butter when I dip chocolate in it haha. So I guess it's not too good at all in that situation.
