Default Super Easy Stripper Makeup Tutorial

OK, I’ve finally gotten around to doing a tutorial for you ladies. This is my first one and it was a lot more work than I expected! If anything is unclear in my explanation, let me know. I am doing the simplest smokey eye with a dark gray shadow (easier to use than black). Lots of pics, sorry if it takes awhile to load up, had to space it between a few posts. Enjoy!!

Products used (all MAC, unless otherwise noted):

    Shimmersand Shadestick
    Knight Divine eyeshadow
    Forgery e/s
    Arena e/s
    Charcoal Brown e/s
    Fluidline in Blacktrack
    Drugstore lashes
    Loreal Voluminous Mascara – black

Brushes: MAC 217, 266, 263, 190, Sephora Powder, Blush, and 3 eye brushes – angled, small, and large.
    Pointed tweezers
    Clear lash glue

    Studio Finish Concealer NW30
    Select Spf 15 NW40
Loose Blot Powder in Medium Dark
    Bronzer in Matte Bronze
    Nars Blush in Outlaw
Mineralize Skin Finish in Shooting Star
    Iridescent Powder in Belightful

    Viva Glam V Lipglass

    1) Start with a clean, makeup-less face. Apply moisturizer, pluck your brows, and apply a bit of chapstick/lip balm so your lips will be nice and soft for lipgloss later.

    2) Apply Shimmersand shadestick (or whatever base you choose) all over your eyelid, from lashline to brow. Also apply a bit of concealer underneath your eye, where it will be hard to get really close to your eyeliner later.

    3) Great, now we have a canvas to apply eyeshadow:

    4) Now load up your brush of choice (I am using a small eye brush from Sephora) with Knight Devine eyeshadow (or any dark shimmery gray) and tap it a couple of times to knock off the excess. I do this over the shadow so any product falls back on top of it. Apply it to your lid, from lash line to just above the crease, following your natural eye shape. Extend the outer corners to elongate your eyes if you wish.

    5) It should now look like this:

    6) Load up an angle brush with the same dark gray shadow and again tap off the excess. Line underneath your eye, from the inner corner to the outer corner and extending to slightly past your eye to create a subtle cat-eye shape and blend it with the shadow you applied above.

    7) Now load up a fluffy brush (I am using MAC’s 217) with Forgery eyeshadow (or any light, shimmery silver shadow).

Apply it to your eye from the inner corner to the crease, blending it into the darker silver and getting rid of any harsh lines.

^^In this picture, I have already done my other eye so you can see where it should go.

    9) Now load up a fluffy brush with your browbone/highlight color. I am using Arena from MAC. It is more a fleshy color. I have really high brows and using a lighter color accentuates that. You can use a lighter silver or more shimmery color if you wish.

    10) Apply to your browbone and blend with the light silver shade you applied earlier.

    11) Brow time!! Fill in your eyebrows with your weapon of choice. I am using Charcoal Brown eyeshadow and the 266 brush from MAC.

    12) This is where we are now. Brows are so important!! Finally starting to look “done”.

    13) Time to apply eyeliner. I am using MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack with a 263 brush. Lasts all night, whether you are stripping or partying. I also like Almay’s liquid liner. Apply from the inner corner to past the outer corner, making a cat-eye shape. Pull your eye taut or your liner will “skip” and it won’t be cute. I like to do it in one sweep, but if doing short strokes works for you, then do that. Also, a tip for keeping your hand steady – I do my makeup at a makeup mirror on a table. When it comes time for liner or applying lashes, I put my elbows on the table and it really helps steady my hands. Try it!

    14) I could not get a decent pic of this, but line your inner rim/waterline as well. I like to gently wipe off any moisture with a q-tip, then pull taut and apply. This will help it last a lot longer. Here is where we are now:

    15) Apply one light coat of mascara to your lashes, bottom and top. We are applying lashes next, so that’s why the one coat. Gives more support to the fake lashes, but not so much that it gets in the way. (If you do not want to use fake eyelashes, apply as many coats of mascara as desired )

    16) I do not feel like a stripper w/o false eyelashes. They open up your eyes so much, esp when you’ve just applied a bunch of dark shadow. Here I am using some pretty tame ones since I’m not going to work. If you are learning, the smaller ones are much easier to apply. The super thick ones are worth the practice tho!

OK, apply a thin line of glue to your lashes and wave it back and forth til the glue is a bit tacky. It takes a bit of practice to know when, but usually 30-45 seconds. If you don’t wait, they will slide around on your lid, which is a pain in the ass.

    17) Now the application – sorry I was not able to get a good pic of this. Like I said earlier, rest your elbows on a table to help steady your hands. I gently grab the lashes on each side and place them as close to my actual lashes as I can, trying not to let any glue touch my lashes. (It hurts and can pull out your lashes. When learning, you are bound to do this at least a few times. Use baby oil to dissolve the glue when taking them off and be GENTLE.) I try to place the middle of the lashes first, then adjust the inner and outer corners, using tweezers if I need to.

Here is a pic with them applied just on one eye, so you can see the difference even these more natural lashes make.

18 ) After falsies and a few more coats of mascara to blend your lashes with the fake ones (my glue is not entirely dry yet). If you don’t get em on perfect, don’t fret. You’re going to be in a dark club after all! It doesn’t matter if they aren’t perfect close-up, so long as they look okay from the distance that you would be talking to someone.

    19) Great, so now we are done with the eyes! Time to make that face look as close to perfect as possible. First wipe off any eyeshadow that may have fallen onto your face. Concealer time! I am using MAC Studio Finish concealer here, applied with my ring finger (your ring finger has the lightest touch). You can also use a brush if you wish, Loreal makes a great one for $8. Touch up underneath the eyes and cover any blemishes.

    20) Foundation time – I use MAC Select Spf 15 applied with 190 brush. I like using a brush opposed to a sponge – sponges absorb a lot of product and you end up wasting a lot. If you have great skin, apply where needed and blend like the devil. If you have skin like me, apply all over and blend like the devil. Make sure there are no harsh lines on your neck.

    21) Almost done, I promise. Grab your big fluffy powder brush and get some loose powder (I like MAC Blot Powder) on it. Tap off the excess and apply all over your face to set the foundation and keep shine away (bring it work tho – if you get hot, you will get shiny and be happy you have this with you). Pay extra attention to the typically shiny areas – forehead, nose, and cheeks.

    22) K, I’m a bronzer whore. Use an angle blush brush to apply just below your cheekbones as a contour.

Contouring and highlighting your cheekbones is great – helps to create them and define them if you already have em. Ok, so you apply just under your cheekbones, following the natural shape and blending the edges well, like so:

    23) It should look something like this:

    24) Now we need blush to bring that healthy, sexy, just had as orgasm flush to your face. Bronzer on its own looks rather flat. I use the same brush I used for bronzer to pick up some Nars Outlaw blush. I like to apply it just above the bronzer, blending the two into each other and blending it onto the apples of my cheeks.

    25) Now I apply an all-over bronzer with a bit of sparkle to blend everything together and give my whole face (and neck) a sunny glow. I am using MAC Mineralize Skin Finish in Shooting Star and the same powder brush from before. Tap off the excess and lightly apply all over, including your neck.

    26) Let’s highlight those cheekbones. I am using MAC Iridescent Powder in Belightful (mine broke, hence the loose form) with the same powder brush. Apply to the highest part of your cheekbone to just before your cheeks.

^^The flash on my camera is reflecting the sparkles in my blush, so it looks like there is highlighter on my apples of my cheeks, but it should look similar.

    27) YAY, last step!! Apply some nude gloss (MAC Viva Glam V) and you are ready to go make some $$$$$$!!!

So that is my first tutorial. Would appreciate any comments, feedback, questions, etc. Next time, I will do a look that has more to it, but I figured this would be easy for everyone (myself included!). Muah!!

I personally know a lot about makeup application but it was interesting to see how you did it, and I like how you clearly explained the steps.

You look so pretty too! I don't think you need as much foundation as you say you do but the pics look great so who am I to say? lol

The things I do a bit differently are applying my very light and shimmery brow highlighter to my cheekbones (slightly) and I use different size brushes than you do for eyeshadowing and such. I am also a lot more extreme with my eyeshadows and brows because I shave them off and draw them back on. Sometimes I use a very careful blending method to add different shades and colors to my brows with different pencils. I also like to put the darkest shade in the crease of my eye, and then use another (slightly lighter) color for the lid and the lightest for the brow. I guess it all depends on the eye shape and what works best for individual people.
One thing that is really fun is lip shading, a technique I learned from drag queens. I might post a pic thingy like you did to show it. Most girls won't use it for work but it's really cool how it works.

I think I need to pick up that MAC fluidline though. I've heard nothing but great things about it.
