This was terrific! If you felt up to the challenge, you should set up a website with other tutorials. I'm sure you have all kinds of little tips and tricks - and you have a wonderful way of explaining things.

(By the way, you are stunning!)

This was a great tutorial! The steps were super clear and easy to follow. I usually don't wear hardly any makeup at all but I am totally gonna try some new stuff now, following your instructions of course!

thank you and the best part were the photos.. if you ever want to do more im one that doesnt mind a few long posts.. i love them!

plus ive been to beauty websites and they seem to skip a step.. they will do something and then you look at the face and are like wait what did they do there.. they assume "you know" .. i like step by step.. and the starting with clean moisterized face.. that is definitly numero uno.. a cleeean canvas.. A few years ago i went and spent the money on a mac makeup demo thing.. $60.. 2 min into it i was depressed.. the girl didnt even touch my face with any cleanser..not even a cotton swab with toner or something.. just slapped on color ..and when she was done.. btw using horrible colors of plums and purples.. I have dark circles under my eyes and her choice of colors made me look even more bruised and dark... she went for the mascara and i had to finally say STOP "shouldnt you be curling these lashes??" my lashes are bone straight and thin.. she was like oh i guess so .. if you want ..anyways this was a perfecto demo..thanks

i'm always one to cut corners. so i sat down in front of the comp saying "right lets follw this"
I don't have any of the mac products mentioned so i "improvised" i don't have any of the special brushes mentioned so i "improvised"...you can see where this is going.
I ended up with two black eyes and crusty eyeliner all over my face hehe.
Managed to clean it up and i now have some reasonable smoky eyes and got my liner in a straight line.
Guess i'll try again when i actually follow the instructions lmao.

    A few questions:
How long does this take you to do? It's awesome, I thought I'd finally gotten my make-up routine down, but like I've said it always seems to be OFF by the end of the day. I'm going to try this.

If you had to estimate how much would all the MAC products cost you? I hate to ask this, I feel cheap. I've always heard MAC is a pretty superior product to a lot of make-up so I wouldn't feel bad dishin' the money out.

    that's awesome!

i think part of my eye makeup retardeness is that i really don't know how to choose more than 2 colors that go together. i am NOT good at picking colors out. pretty much if i use 3 colors, the 3rd is ALWAYS grey/black. plus i don't know what colors i can wear. my eye color changes from blue to green, to a mix of both depending on what i'm wearing (ie..if i'm wearing blue, they reflect more blue, same with green etc...)

i think i'm also scared of applying the dark colors..i feel like i'll look like a clown or something...ACK! maybe i should take a pic of my naked eyes and get some tips????

You look so pretty too! I don't think you need as much foundation as you say you do but the pics look great so who am I to say? lol

The things I do a bit differently are applying my very light and shimmery brow highlighter to my cheekbones (slightly) and I use different size brushes than you do for eyeshadowing and such. I am also a lot more extreme with my eyeshadows and brows because I shave them off and draw them back on. Sometimes I use a very careful blending method to add different shades and colors to my brows with different pencils. I also like to put the darkest shade in the crease of my eye, and then use another (slightly lighter) color for the lid and the lightest for the brow. I guess it all depends on the eye shape and what works best for individual people.
One thing that is really fun is lip shading, a technique I learned from drag queens. I might post a pic thingy like you did to show it. Most girls won't use it for work but it's really cool how it works.

I think I need to pick up that MAC fluidline though. I've heard nothing but great things about it.
I agree with you, this is a very basic makeup application. I love to do a darker color in the crease, but that can take me a really long time. I wanted to do something nice and easy for girls that are just learning about makeup. Plus I think everyone should have a hot makeup routine that they've mastered and can throw on very quickly. I've done this look so many times, I can do it within 20 minutes w/o even thinking about it, which is invaluable when you are rushing to get to work.

Please show us the drag queen lip trick!! I had this Kevyn Aucoin book once and he showed how drag queens use latex to cover their brows (so they dont have to shave them) and draw them back on. It was cool to see how they do it. I'd be willing to bet drag queens have quite a few tricks up their sleeve that could be useful to us.

And yes, fluidline is the shit!
