I don't have any of the mac products mentioned so i "improvised" i don't have any of the special brushes mentioned so i "improvised"...you can see where this is going.
I ended up with two black eyes and crusty eyeliner all over my face hehe.
Managed to clean it up and i now have some reasonable smoky eyes and got my liner in a straight line.
Guess i'll try again when i actually follow the instructions lmao.
Milani shadows from the drugstore are actually very comparable to MAC. And the Sonia Kashuk line at Target has some damn good brushes.

If you had to estimate how much would all the MAC products cost you? I hate to ask this, I feel cheap. I've always heard MAC is a pretty superior product to a lot of make-up so I wouldn't feel bad dishin' the money out.
When I started writing it all out, I was shocked at the 27 steps. I can do this look in 20 minutes, if I'm not stopping to take pics after every step. As I said earlier in the thread, I think every stripper should have at least one hot look that they've mastered and can do quickly. It really helps when you are rushing to get to work or slightly hungover from the night before, etc.

As far as the products - the 3 shadows are $14 each, shadesticks are $16 and fluidline in $18. The brush for fluidline is about $14. You can check all the prices on the mac site, my estimates might be a little off. I mentioned the entertainer discount (30%) in another thread, so if you apply for that or can use a friends you will save a lot. I know MAC seems pricey at first, but compared to other lines (Nars, Dior, Lancome) it is not all that expensive and the quality is great. Their eye products are amazing, but I'm not entirely sold on their foundation. When I've finished the one I have, I'll be switching to a different line.

Milani shadows are comparable and a lot cheaper.

i think part of my eye makeup retardeness is that i really don't know how to choose more than 2 colors that go together. i am NOT good at picking colors out. pretty much if i use 3 colors, the 3rd is ALWAYS grey/black. plus i don't know what colors i can wear. my eye color changes from blue to green, to a mix of both depending on what i'm wearing (ie..if i'm wearing blue, they reflect more blue, same with green etc...)

i think i'm also scared of applying the dark colors..i feel like i'll look like a clown or something...ACK! maybe i should take a pic of my naked eyes and get some tips????
There is a link to a list in the ready for work thread that lists all sorts of combos for MAC, but if you don't have a lot of MAC it's probably not that useful. Make an account on specktra and view the FOTDs section - it's where members post their face for their day. I get a lot of ideas surfing around on there. Two members over there to specifically check out - Son_Risa and mistella. I can't even copy their skills but I love looking at their pics for inspiration.

Wow, I'm really happy you guys have enjoyed this tutorial. I was actually nervous to put it up! I'm glad I did tho and I will try to make another one with a more complicated look soon. Thanks for all your lovely compliments!!

What a fantastic post! I would never have thought to put the eye makeup on BEFORE the foundation... but of course that makes perfect sense!!

And you are just as gorgeous in the "before" photos as in the "after" - what skin you have!!! Yummy!

One quick question, how do you take all of this off? I hate taking make up off! I always seem to have a hard time with the mascara, so what do you use?

I tried it, minus the lashes, and it did look HOTTTT, but my eyes are a 'lil on the small side- if I did use the lashes would it balance that out enough? Or should I not go for such dark colors?

HHL - I just take off everything with an Olay face wipe. You could also buy some eyemakeup remover pads, I like Almay's.

Fawn - Try using the light silver from the inner corner to the center. Use the dark silver on the outer corners and underneath. This will help open up your eyes. Lashes will help your eyes to look much wider and more open. Check out the pic I posted with lashes just on one side to see how much of a difference they make.

I never used that dark of a color offset with silver, I recently tried green. Thanks for the tip with the eyes. It's what
I like to show off the most as well, I'm going to go try it out right now minus the lashes in my bathroom (HUGS)

This is awesome tutorial. The makeup looks really beautiful and I can't wait to try this. Its funny tho because I showed my boyfriend to ask what he thought and he really disliked it. This got me wondering if all this work is for ourselves or the men?...
