    Default Ouch!

    I had dinner about an hour ago - four turkey sausage links and a big pile of stir-fried chard. I eat both these things on a fairly regular basis; I love them and they're cheap. But for the past 20 minutes or so I have been having MAJOR cramps in my gut! Like, they're so intense and painful they bowl me over! It really hurts. Is it the food or what? I'm nowhere near my period!

    Is there something in chard that gives you really bad cramps if you combine it with turkey sausage or something?

    Sounds like gas? If you don't usually get gas from them, I dunno why you wold now...

    I think green leafy veggies are supposed to be really high in fiber... maybe it was the way I cooked the chard? Usually I steam it or I stir-fry it with garlic and olive oil, but this time I just cooked the turkey sausage first, took it out, and then stir-fried the chard in the little bit of turkey grease with a squirt of Sriracha. It was delicious but I guess I won't do that anymore.

    I think it might be gas, because now I'm feeling bloated. Yurgh. This is what I get for trying to be healthy! I should've ordered a damn pizza.

    Ha, as I'm reading this I'm eating my recently ordered pizza. Probably gas, I've had gas from things that didn't cause it in the past. Bodies are funny like that.

    you're probably just having a hard time digesting it for some reason. I have a friend that calls this "bubble gut".

    its probably from the sriracha sauce, especially if you have not eaten it for a while.

    I used to get bad stomach and intestinal cramps from it until it became something I ended using almost every day

    I use Sriracha a lot but I'm still bloated and crampy this morning. I think I undercooked the chard and that's what did it.

    Moral of the story, people... if you're cooking with chard, make sure it's fully cooked!

    If you're still gasy and crampy, lay on your back and pull your knees up to your chest. The pressure is supposed to help things work themselves out better. Also, rub your stomach in circles, right to left. It's the way your intestines are coiled and it's supposed to help massage it all "out".
