One great suggestion is to leave a packet of post-its in your locker and write positve affirmations on them. Every night, write a new one and stick it on the inside door with things like:

"I am a people and money magnet!"
"Money comes to me easily and readily!"
"I am the absolute best at what I do!"
"The more fun I have, the more money I make!"

    ...and so on.

When I was having a hard time last night at work I was about to go up on stage and whilst I was waiting I said to myself in my head a few times

"I am a money magnet. Money comes to me easily and abundantly"

I didn't believe it 100% however I believed it enough for it to work!

I came off that stage with $60 tip from one guy and thus started a positive momentum for me that lasted until 4am!

I just have to remember to use them more often as I believe they do work. The key for me is that even if I don't believe it 100% ... I have to believe it (at least) 70-90% as such for it to work.

    "I'm a loser and I can't make housefee."

    wait...no!

    "I'm a $1000/night stripper!"

(it's true, this works...just being a smartass. I've noticed the people that believe in this are often successful at whatever they do.)

Here's one I used last night and it totally worked for me -----

I attract QUALITY money easily and abundantly to me.

I added the word QUALITY to it and didn't dance for one a-hole all night! I had a great night both financially and otherwise as they all were fun/enjoyable.

I have to say that this one really works! For my last few shifts I've been doing pretty poorly, averaging about half-one third of what I'm used to. Ugh! So yesterday I took some postit notes and wrote these quotes on here and put it in the section of my purse where I keep my large bills. When I came into work I affirmed to myself that I was there to have a good time and meet quality customers. After getting a few dances immediately after my first set (even with no one at the stage, just someone coming up after my set and asking), I spent the rest of the evening with just one customer who was a complete gentleman, kept his hands to himself, bought drinks and tipped all my favorite girls, and took me in the back for 3-5 songs in between every time I went onstage (he wanted to take plenty of breaks, and i do love going onstage). Best customer I've had in weeks, even after an endless parade of jerks!

I even got to incorporate my affirmations into our discussion, like when he raved about how positive and pleasant I am to be around... "Well, I figure that when you have a job as wonderful as mine, you just need to have as much fun as possible and everyone else will too!" And every time I put another wad of money into my purse I just saw my little post-its saying how wonderful I am...

    This is so true guys.

Have you heard of a DVD called, "The Secret"? (It was recently featured on Oprah). It's all about The Law of Attraction and how 'thoughts become things'.
    http://www.thesecret.tv/

    You can also read about "The Secret" DVD on Oprah's website;
    http://www.oprah.com/spiritself/slid..._284_101.jhtml

It gives some really excellent tips on how to visualize/manifest whatever it is that you want.

Any other specific examples of how you've applied affirmations/visualizations to bring about desired outcomes at work?

I find the examples above so inspiring, and want to hear more!!

Also, does anyone know of any other threads relating to this?

    Thanks all

I think that is so true. You get what you put out. If you tell yourself you're going to make great money you are more confident, approachable and you put yourself in better positions. If you say, "I am crabby and I won't make any money, this crowd sucks" that's generally what you are going to get.

I did an experiment on this theory the other night (Wednesday) because I had just had two good nights on what were dead nights prior and figured I could give myself a little break. So I mentally fucked myself (you could say) to get into a bad mood about the whole place... I did the "oh look! too many damn girls and not enough patrons let alone customers!" thing to myself. I kinda convinced myself (a little too well granted at the time oops!) that I wouldn't make shit etc.

    Guess what.

    Yup.

I made crap all money (only because in the last few hours I changed my mindset around back to the "I attract quality money easily and abundantly") during my little experiment and you want to know what else... another interesting tidbit of the whole experiement I did that night... it was the first time in a long while I had come across and up against so many damn assholes and propositions for sex and people "looking for more" etc etc.

I definately attracted the bottom of the barrell both in monetary terms (non spenders and time wasters) and personality wise.

There was a huge difference with that night compared to the previous two which I had when I used the "positive" affirmations.

So I can definately attest to "the power of the mind" !!!

I do this as well. I types out a whole list of good insiprational quotes, and positve affirmations, shrunk the text really small, printed it out, and then cut it out so I had a reall small peice of paper. I stuck it inside my purse where I keep my money. Whenever I go to count my money, I see this paper, and reread everything on it..it keeps me going. And does keep me in the proper mindset.

Last night we were dead, only about 5 guys in the club and my regular was leaving. I told him that I hoped some guy would come in and give me 1000 dollars, but that I'd settle for whomever came in and make the most of it. We were just laughing about it.

We finally got a couple more tables in, I went and sat down with a guy who was by himself, and 15 minutes later he pulls out 6-700 in fantasy money and sits it on the table! I had a positive attitude even though we were slow and managed to make really good money for a Wednesday.

    I am a powerful moneymaker!

i have a bad habit of negative thoughts so now i literally frog march myself into a positive mood!

every time i have a negative thought like, wow, its dead in here, or whatever, i say NO, tonight is going to be a great night! I am in a fantastic mood and i am going to make lots of money! i WANT to be here and i am shit hot and sexy!

works everytime. i refuse to let myself think negative thoughts now and it keeps me sane!

that is brilliant! The "quality" part does make a huge difference.
