Default Does my Brazilian Wax customer complaint sound legit?

On Monday, I went to my favorite Houston Rice Village salon for a brazilian wax. Both of my favorites were off that day, and I was desperate because it's spring break.

The only aesthetician they had that morning was one I had before who wasn't as good as the others, but still got the job done. I could swear that the last time I had her, she kept dipping the same stick in the wax pot. This time, I said, "You DO wear gloves and use a new popsicle stick each time, RIGHT?" She said yes, and used a new stick each time. However, she still had some bad techniques, which I will list.

My snatch has been painful as all out hell, I think I've developed a yeast infection from it. Don't ask me how a yeast infection could have happened from this. Maybe the unsanitary wax and the yeast infection are two unrelated but coincidental events. However, the area between my butt cheeks are painful, and the wax I received was less than sanitary. Usually I'm sore for a few hours, but I'm good as new after some Neosporin. However, it's been 2 days and I'm still hurting.

    1) She did not powder between my butt cheeks, and it's red, puffy, raw, and ouchy between them. This is not related to my yeast infection.
    2) She only wore one glove. Although the gloved hand was the one that shoved aside my butt cheeks, she still once used the ungloved hand to apply baby powder to my mons.
    3) While her hands were occupied, she'd sometimes hold the popsicle stick between her teeth. I doubt that that part touched my pussy but it's still kinda gross.
    4) She did not hold my skin taut. I did it myself a couple times to try to blunt the pain. A taut pull is necessary for a good rip, but I had blood spots andraw areas this time.

Do you think it would be unreasonable to lodge a complaint? Do those complaints sound yucky to you? Do you think I should try to get a discounted or free wax for next time? I'm not trying to be a bratty customer, but I am in fucking pain, and I'd hate to see others have stuff happen to them due to her.

I think that is a good excuse to complain! You have had waxes before and u know what goes on, and what she did reeks of unprofesionalism. Complain you have every right !

Update: I called in, told the supervisor about my poor ouchy pussy and butt and how unsanitary the aesthetician was. I now have a gift certificate for a free brazilian wax! That's a $50 value! I didn't bitch, I made it clear that this was not up to their regular wonderful service, and I thanked the supervisor profusely.

Chicago, you do not want to be looking at my pussy or around my butthole. They're all red, puffy, and ouchy.

I honestly believe you deserve more than a $50 gift certificate! What sort of repremand has this waxer get?? Have you gone to the doctor to check your stuff out? I mean if she's re-dipping with you, then she is with her other customers as well. And what if one of them had a disease...

I did ask them to reprimand her for her unsanitary habits. She will be reciving a warning and an evaluation. I also told them that I would never receive a wax, facial, etc, from her ever again.

They also told me to come in tomorrow if I'm still ouchy. Judging by the rash between my cheeks, I will probably have to.

Edit: Cinnamon, you're right. I should make the point of how dangerous it was. I just did the spread eagle in the mirror, and this rash is oozy and red and isn't going away anytime soon. I'm going to go in tomorrow and see if I can get more compensation out of this. Any advice on what to bring up and how to present myself? What do you think would be a reasonable compensation?

In all honesty, I'd be contacting my state board of cosmetology if I were you. Why do they need you to come in tomorrow? They aren't doctors..

They say that they'll want to look at it, and it would kill two birds with one stone because they'll have physical proof of my injury. I was planning on going in and showing my holies anyway. I will ask my bf to take a photo FOR EVIDENCE ONLY as proof, just in case. I still have the credit card receipt which proves that i was there with her, and the salong database tracks your every appointment.

I'm hesitant to contact the state board because this salon is usually so good. I usually receive top-notch service from my regular aesthetician, but this was jsut a bad apple. This is a fancy-schmancy salon in the yuppie part of town, so I'm sure that this aesthetician will be dealt with accordingly.

Mind me asking where this was? I've gone to beautique a few times and have gotten a really nice nude wax there. But a few years ago when I went to get my eyebrows done there(don't remember who it was) I was left with a pencil thin brow. Ouch.

This is the Rice Village Beautique. Usually I get good treatment, but she was a abd apple. If you want a good Brazilian, ask for Cornelia. She's so quick that you won't have time to scream in pain.

Do you live in Houston? I could tell you some excellent places to get your eyebrows done.

Haha thanks. I think the women who has done me was named Sasha(took about 5 minutes!). Not 100% sure and I don't feel like digging through my receipts. I'll keep Cornelia in mind if my previous waxer is not available. I go to Beauty First to get my eyebrows done now; she does a real good job and I don't trust anyone else with my brows. But out of curiosity where are these other good brow places?

Get your eyebrows threaded! Go to 59, Hillcroft exit. There's a plaza fill of Middle Eastern shops like Halaal grocery stores, Sari tailors, etc. If you pass the Colorado strip club, you've gone too far. There's a place called Lina's Beauty Salon, and she gives great threading jobs for $6 and takes like 2 minutes. If Lina's isn't open (they have weird hours), go down Hillcroft some more (the same side of 59). On your right, next to some Indian stores, is Ruby's Salon. They also give good threading jobs, and offer cards that give you a free one after so many.

The popsickle in the mouth is gross. But I don't think it's common for a diff stick to be dipped in each time. Everywhere I have gone they use a metal spatula and redip the same one.

It's good that they offered you a free wax just make sure they don't let her do your wax again.

Also did you remain pantieless for a few hours after your wax and did you not exercise?
Once I made the mistake of wearing a g-string after a brazilian wax and I went to the gym and I was veryyyyyyyy sore and red raw between my butt cheeks after that.

I've been waxed several times before. Each time, all I needed to recover was a few hours going commando and taking it easy and some neosporin. 3 days later, I'm still hurting.

Neosporin is antibiotic ointment, the kind you put on boo-boos before you put on a band-aid.

It makes me so angry when they let inexperienced girls do brazilians. It's happened to me too many times, because of the whole "trendiness" of brazilians all the waxing places suddenly got popular and the good experienced therapists are like hen's teeth! Anytime you go to a place with more than one therapist you get a different girl every time and they are all just out of beauty school.

I got a waxing done at a salon once and I was 10 mins late (let's not mention that I was told that I could arrive between 7 and 7:15 and I arrived at 7:10!) And the therapist was so worried about keeping to her schedule that she didn't finish my brazilian! Didn't. Finish. As in, left patches of hair! What's all that about then?

When I was leaving her supervisor was like "you can come back later and we'll finish it" and I was like "No, don't worry about it". I never went back there. Yeesh that was annoying.

I had what I thought was a yeast infection, but I think it's a combo BV and yeast. It seemed like the yeast infections I've had in the past, but it's still burning and itching. I'm going to Planned Parenthood as soon as I can, and I'm going to the salon today. This is serious.

Update: I called in, and will be checked out this afternoon. The owner seems kind of skeptical. I was not able to schedule a Dr's appointment today, but the salon will be accomodating me. They want to examime me. I'mnot sure what their CYA motives will be.

The rash has subsided into a bit of redness, but this vaginal infection still remains. I'm itching and burning. I hope that they don't shaft me. I did mention that I have been taking photos, and that I will be seeing a doctor.
