    Thanks for all the input.

But I would be lying if I didn't say that I am disappointed. I thought there would be a great deal of songs out there that a girl (namely my wife) can throw on some cowboy boots, "daisy dukes", crop top (is that the name of the shirt that shows the belly??) and a sexy hat. But it seems that there is a shortage of this type of music.

I went to a place that is very similar to the Coyote Ugly bars and they had a lot of music (mostly rock) that seemed to have worked in that atmosphere, but I didn't know the songs. Bummer....

Obviously southern rock and country are not genres I am well-versed in--but you can't know everything about music, and it's not really my thing--I have other, stronger interests.

You might try Shedaisy, I had an old girlfriend that had a remix CD by them that I thought was great at the time. Their other stuff didn't move me, but the remixes were good--I remember giving her a hard time about not bringing it in when we worked together, lol. Haven't seen or heard of it since then, though.

Or how about Bonnie Raitt? Some of her stuff is very good. Yeah, yeah, I know--she was born in California, but to me she has a sort of country/bluesy style.

Did anyone mention Stevie Ray Vaughn or the Fabulous Thunderbirds? Again, blues, not country--but by god those boys were from Texas, and they have a rock sound for sure.

I just woke up--and after this I give up--so anyone inclined to get critical about these suggestions will be blithely ignored by me, lol...

the interesting thing about this genre is it's more than just southern rock/country. You couldn't broaden it to "southern" period, in which case you can bring in less defined music or broaden the spectrum totally. Blues is definitely from the south, so no harm in including that. Play some Mississippi Queen or Slow Ride. Good music is good music, no harm in blurring the lines to get what you want out of it, and that's to see some gorgeous woman playing the farmer's daughter role.
