Angry Yasmin and skin: not working?!

I started taking Yasmin to help get rid of my acne. Well today is day 8, and my skin looks worse than my worst pms day!! Please someone tell me that it just takes a couple of weeks to adjust. For those on Yasmin: did it help right away, or did you skin look worse at first and then improve? How long before I should just give up and stop taking it?
    Thanks ladies.

I tried Ortho Tri cyclen for my acne years ago. The only thing it did was clear my face for one day. It went like this...1 wk clear, 1 wk breaking out, 1 wk broke out, 1 wk clearing up, and back.
    It wasn't worth it.
I wouldn't think 8 days was enough to see a difference though. You have to give it a couple cycles.
Someone will probably flame this, but I've been using Persagel for almost two years. It's the only thing that's made a real difference in my 10+ yr battle with moderate acne. I have a picture of what less than a month on Persagel did for my skin. You can see my scars clearly, but there is no acne.
And the great thing is, it starts working in a matter of days.

I found for me it took about a month or two to really see a good difference. But after that, it really did work.

Also, I just wanted to warn that if you're prone to migraines, Yasmin can really aggravate that. I ended up switching to Yaz and then the Ring because of the migraines.

You could always just get a prescription for spironolactone, which is the drug that is in the birth control that is supposed to help with hormonal acne.

A lot of times, things that are meant to help with acne temporarily make it worse at first. Just a thought... I wouldn't lose hope yet.

Also, I'm a firm believer in treating acne from the inside out. I think a lot of times it's linked to poor diet and food allergies (which you may not know that you have), and of course stress/anxiety. For example, I recently started drinking coffee with equal in it again, and my skin has a few tiny pimples on it now... which makes me think the aspartame might be the culprit.

Tampadancer, you are so right on... in fact, I know I have allergies to wheat, dairy and eggs. I am also pretty hooked on the stuff. I have been meaning to try eliminating those foods, but it is SO hard, I wanted to see if the pill worked first. If the pill doesn't work within a month or two, I will have to eliminate those foods aaaaahh!! wish me luck
The one time I eliminated those foods for a month when I was a teen, my skin was crystal clear but I felt like i was constantly starving and fiending for CHEEEEZE. But I will probably have to try it again.

I have been taking yasmin for a few months. At first, it can make your hormones crazy but i have found after a couple months my moods have totally leveled out. I used to cry at the drop of a hat but since getting regular on yasmin i hardly ever cry. I cant even MAKE myself cry!! Give it a bit for your body to adjust. good luck

thanks for the responses ladies. still hanging in there. I might have to go buy some makeup that has more coverage until I can figure out what to do.
Anyone else with more skin/yasmin experiences?
