Default Low, low energy. How to get it back?

I'm exhausted. It's been like this for weeks, since my brush with strep. I have been going to sleep most nights by 10pm, waking late and dragging myself through the day. Diet hasn't change for the worse (I'm not eating crap or boosting my coffee intake to compensate, in other words), but I just cannot seem to jumpstart my metabolism. Worse, I haven't been to the gym or yoga in weeks.

I certainly know I need to shift back into a regular exercise routine, but I'm just so freakin' tired all the time!

    Any recommendations?

P.S. Getting an annual physical in about a week; maybe that'll reveal something. I'll definitely mention the loss of energy to the doc.

It's good to hear you're going to the Doc.. Fatigue can be the result of so many different things it's hard to speculate. I do know that working out will result in higher energy..just make yourself do it and reap the rewards! Hope you feel better soon. Might I suggest keeping a food/drink diary for the next week and showing it to your Dr...it might shed some light on your problem.

Definitely the lack of sunlight is a contributing factor! I'm thinking about a tanning booth session tonight. Just a wee zap. It's worked in the past to boost my mood .

And vodka/redbull on my next trip to the Whiskey Bar.

    Cocaine...

Just kidding! Try the tanning bed, and also eat something really high in good carbs like whole-wheat pasta. And yes, if you can drag yourself into it, exercise will help too.

Try the "4-3-2-1 Detox" supplement (available at most health stores). It's loaded with green tea and vitamin Bs. I get super energy and rebound every time I do it. No, it's not one of those starve yourself detox diets rather just a supplement. It taste pretty good too (like tea). I like to squeeze lemon in it.

Cool. Will try it. I'm already taking a load of CLA. No problem mixing the two, is there?

do you take a multivitamin? i've found that when i'm deficient in iron, my anchor really drags.

also, yeah, tanning will hopefully help.

Exercise, you lazy bastard! It raises your energy levels. And no booze; it'll disturb your REM sleep and make you more tired in the long run.

In fact, I do. One "Super Green" from GNC every day. Not sure if there's iron in that, actually.
