    Default Anyone done ballet boots?

Ballet boots: the bastard offspring of a stripper spike heel and a ballet point shoe. Saw some recently and they look kinda cool to me, make me think of doing a ballerina theme. But can they be danced in, anyone tried?

I don't think these could even be walked in. I think they're for fetish purposes only? Your feet would thank you if you went with the classic platform with ribbons that lace up the leg...

Yeah those, I think I like em because they're unusual, would stand out definitely. But don't wanna stand out in a bad way, like keeling over in em lol Guess I'll just have to see if anyone local has any to try on... stage sets might be outta the question but I wonder if I could manage with a pole for support

I think they are possible to walk in but only if you trained your feet..it would probably take a really long time. It might freak out your non fetish customers though

Ouch...they look painful. Reminds me of chinese foot binding...wearing them for any length of time could seriously damage your feet

I was going to buy a pair of those when I was modeling for a fetish shoot. They were only going to be used for that purpose alone. I can't imagine walking around, let alone dancing in those things.

I would imagine that unless you were actually a ballerina trained en pointe then you would not be able to dance in them. Working en pointe takes years or practice and strengthening exercises to do, and even then it is pretty painful!!

I was trained for pointe. I'll let you in on a little secret: with those bad boys, it is very likely that you will break your toes. From dancing, I've broken all of my toes, both big toes twice. This is with gel pads in the ends of my toe shoes and being able to go down off my toes. Your toes and the arch of your foot are NOT designed to withstand that type of pressure and strain, and neither are your legs. It will hurt, and you will probably do some damage to your toes, feet, and/or legs.

Ya, no way could you just be fine walking in those for more then a few steps. I have a pair, and I wore them to work once, but I danced ballet on pointe for 6 years. My feet were bleading by the end of the night, and now I've only used them for photoshoots.

Holy hell, I would bust my ass and fall down in those in less than a second. Just looking at them made my feet hurt.

I doubt that those boots were made for walking.

    Wow, thats crazy Lola, lol!

Ballet boots are not made for dancing, theyre a fetish item. I believe that if your feet and legs arnt trained to be in them properly that you can do yourself some damage even standing in them for periods of time, let alone walking. I have been told that the length of the boot can make a difference too, knee length being better for support than a shoe or ankle boot, but still I dnt think dancing in them is a good idea.

Yep, in retrospect, it was a crazy stupid thing to do, I could have easily, even knowing what I'm doing, have broken a toe or two. Then I culdn't have danced for the whole time it was healing!!!!!.

I did pay to be off stage, though, so it wasn't that bad.

But still, A not of caution: if you are not HIGHLY trained en pointe, you'll break an ankle or at least some toes, 10 to 1.

And if you ARE trained en pointe, you know how dangerous this is to do, being in them for that length of time is crazy, and you're still likely to be off your feet for a week or two, b/c your toes will be injured and bleeding.

YES! The only people I've ever seen to take a FEW steps in them were fetishists who had been training in them for a long time. They are soooo not for dancing.

they're actually meant as a form of restraint - by making their sub wear them a dom(me) can pretty much ensure that the sub is not going anywhere of their own volition...there is a variation on them that are meant to give a similar look but with a little more mobility for the person wearing them...

Why not just wear the classic ballet shoes? I think they're sexier than the fetish variety and you can actually dance in them.

This is kind of a neat hybrid, you could probably lace them higher up your leg and make it look very ballet.

Like a few others said on this board, DON'T unless you are trained en pointe. I started not long ago and have slowly been building up. It took a few years of ballet training to even get en pointe. You will most definately do damage to your feet if you were to walk around in those shoes. Pointe shoes are not something for beginners-it takes lots of practice and strength.

Wow.... I guess I just didn't know better. I always loved the way pointe shoes looked so I bought a pair just to wear for fun (sooooo cute!). I've never been trianed and though it is a lil tricky at the get-go I haven't suffered any ill effects. When I get the urge to wear them I do so for a few hours and then it's back to flip flops. Maybe I have a fetish, I dunno. I just love them. Anywho.... more ballet-like stripper shoes:

I think she's suggesting something safer, but that could still give you a ballet type look
