    Default pole dancing class?

I just signed up for a pole dancing class at the club I have an audition at on Tuesday. When i was there thursday, I talked with the girl at great lengths and she said that she does classes on sunday from 130 til 3 and teaches the girls how to pole dance for $40 a head. Do you think it is a good idea to get a class from a possible fellow coworker? Also, seeing that I have only really danced once before, is it possible that this class will help my chances of getting hired? I figured that putting $40 into a class will only help me make more money, if I get hired, ya know?

$40 is a very small investment!!

My first ? would have to be...why so cheap? Usual going rate is $50 and up for one hr of instruction.

Regardless of the fact that you may learn some moves, I would be more concerned with how they are taught.

I am the first one to say I hate this stereotype...but I have had wayyy toooo many girls say "I learned this trick from another girl I work with...", but once they have done that trick say 30-40 times...all of a sudden they can't move their arm due to seizure of the muscles, or a shoulder dislocation.

I started my teaching as a dancer who taught on Sundays...but, I had over 10 years of performing those moves and the knowledge of body safety...this being a result of learning from someone who had no clue what they were teaching, and I ending up with permanent damage done to my own body!

So I have to ask, have you seen this girl perform? Do you know what she teaches? Is she going to try to instruct a move that you are physically not ready to do? Is she going to show you how to place your shoulder in the proper position so as not to aggrevate the deltoid or the rotator cup...to show you proper side placement to not dislocate ribs? Does she perform stretch warms up?

    If so...go for it....awesome deal!!

Sorry for my rambling....but MY concern, regarding teaching, is Safety first.

As for helping to get you hired, most clubs are interested in the fact that you have taken the time to research your job...It very well may help!

I did see her perform, and since it was slow the thursday I went to the club, she was actually showing some of the girls how to do certain pole tricks, since I was the only customer there. She seemed to be pretty smart and knowledgeable on the subject.

She even showed me her full-color newspaper ads that are in the local newspaper (given, it is labeled as "exotic and erotic work out" and not "pole dance at the club I work at"), so it made me feel like it was a legit thing.

I'll be sure to keep a heads up on safety though. I've seen yr websites before - I'm very happy that you replied. You seem to know yr stuff!
